I admit that Oasis is goofy, and while the whole comparison to the Beatles
thing that followed them around during the mid-90's was pure hype, I've
heard many, many bands on the radio that suck worse.

I remember, living in San Francisco at the time, there was this guy who would 
get all the big writing gigs about rawk, you know... for Pulse! (who I also 
wrote for on occasion), BAM and other newspapers... he was more living for the 
big freelance gigs.  I can't recall his name right now, but, he was in my 
social circle.  Anyway, the newspaper or magazine, some big entity, flew him to 
London from S.F. to do a big cover story on the band.  You know, some writers 
live for this kind of free lunch; that's why they got into this.  At the 
beginning, and end of his story, he wrote that Oasis was "the world's greatest Rock 
'n' Roll band".  Meet Ben Dover...
