"Definitely Maybe" is a great rockin' album - nothing
too profound or musically ground breaking, but with
solidly written hook filled songs, well played and
with a great attitude and swagger. Not pretentious at
all, unlike some of their later work - they hadn't
turned into self-parody yet.  >>

My take on Oasis -- at least for the first album:

Great songs, great energy, and the singer renders it all totally 
unlistenable.

Second album -- especially that "Wonderwall" thing -- I can't believe the 
singer is serious.  It truly sounds like someone deliberately trying to sing 
badly.

Verdict: if the singer is that FCCing awful it doesn't matter how good the 
songs are, how good the production is, or how good the band is.  There's no way 
I'm ever listening to them on purpose.

If Cheap Trick ever covers the entire first Oasis LP, that I'll listen to.
