[bomp] Oasis etc.

I always looked at Oasis like, say, the Strokes or something. Nothing
I was personally all that interested in, but the kids could be
listening to a lot worse stuff, you know? I also agree with the
poster who said that if they were an obscure band that no one had
heard of, they'd be praised to the skies on this board. I saw them in
about 93 or so, and I remember that their first song, "Rock & Roll
Star" absolutely killed, but after that the whole thing got really
boring really fast, and stayed that way until the end of the show. To
my ears, it was a one-song concert.

I was a total fan of Night Music. Best music show I've ever seen on
TV, although I'm not old enough to remember the vintage 60s shows.
The Residents/Conway Twitty episode has to be the coolest double bill
EVER. I also distinctly remember the Al Green/Pixies/Sun Ra show as
my favorite lineup of all the episodes.

I noticed the announcement of a show with the Alarm Clocks. I'm here
to tell you that you don't want to miss this. They played at the
Ponderosa Stomp and just destroyed the place. The new songs sounded
just as good as the Back From the Grave classics.

And finally:

Pigpen
Keith Godchaux
Brent Mydland
Vince Welnick

Aside from the obvious aesthetic reasons...MAMAS, DON'T LET YOUR
BABIES GROW UP TO PLAY KEYBOARDS FOR THE GRATEFUL DEAD!!
