Maybe "Dale Nixon" was some kinda' Alan Smithy inside joke among various bands?  

   
  The "Dale Nixon" in Black Flag was Greg Ginn playing bass, not a new band 
member and surely not Brian Baker.

Brian was and probably still is a funny and talented guy. Just never could 
figure out the attraction to all that skate/dye your hair/ride trick bikes and 
play "rad" music shit. WTF, he seems to have made a pretty good living at it. 
DagHouse.com is a pretty good repository for all those old flyers that never had 
the year on them. Heard a sample on there of a song DN did at a show in 1985. 
Awesome guitar intro leading into a fairly routine punk/metal-type number. Seems 
like that kinda summed up that band.
