This is really, really sad news. I heard about it yesterday and listened to
the Unrequited Loves late into the night last night. Such a great band.
When they played in Austin they actually recorded a half dozen tunes at my
house w/ Bob W at the helm. Awesome stuff. Really sad and strange moment
when I got home from work last night cranking them on the stereo and
realizing that Mike was standing just a few feet over in the hallway when he
made that music... and now he's gone.
Mike was a really funny guy and a very colorful character. Although I only
got to hang out w/ him in person for a little less than a week's time about
a year and a half ago, he made a real impression on me, and we kept up
regularly over email. I'm really gonna miss the guy -- I can't imagine what
his closer friends must be going through.
My thoughts are with you guys.
