I too had a strange coincidence last night regarding The Unrequited Loves  
before learning of his death:
 
I went to see some friends of mine do a show in a Long Island park last  
night (Rebecca Hall and her husband, former Optic Nerve drummer Ken  
Anderson...and thankfully they finished and packed up before the thunderstorms  
began)...and their friend and celloist for New York shows lives across the  street from 
the park, and she invited me and others to come to her place to all  just hang 
and shoot the breeze for a bit.
 
Now this girl is mainly into classical music...so when I was sitting in her  
apartment and my eyes went over to the CD shelf, I was very surprised to see  
what from across the room really looked like The Unrequited Loves' CD  (which 
Mike had once mailed me)...I went over to look to see for sure. Turned  out it 
was not The Unrequited Loves' CD, but I explained to them why I suddenly  got 
up to investigate.
 
But as this was going on, I couldn't remember the name of Mike's band, and  
it was bugging me. And I made a mental note to find the CD when I got  home.
 
But when I got home, before doing that, I checked email...and saw Laura's  
post.
 
Anyway, it's very sad news. I too had some offlist correspondence with him  
now and then, though I never met him in person.
