[bomp] More Unexpected coolness

In Texas we have a grocery chain called H*E*B. Over the years, the piped-in music has improved. But they've really caught me by surprise lately.

In recent months I've heard "You Won't Be Happy" by The Beat not once but twice. That song wasn't even on the radio when it was new! I emailed Paul Collins, he's keeping his eye out for a royalty check:)

A couple weeks ago I heard The Beat again, it was Rock-n-Roll Girl girl this time. This grocery store is not in the heart of Austin either, I was up in the suburbs where lots of people still like the president. Minutes later they played Rockaway Beach.

I thought it could get no better, but I was back in the same grocery store last Saturday and it was Rock-nRoll High School followed by London Calling. The Ramones and the Clash back to back. In the grocery store. In Pflugerville, TX. In 2006.

Maybe I'm living in a time warp. Is the rest of the nation experiencing amazingly good supermarket music too?
