[bomp] Beefhouse
Well, whaddya know. My family lived in that neighborhood for a very brief
time. I lived there after the Trout Mask recordings, I guess, but not too
long after. Maybe CB was still living there.
What's interesting is that I *think* this might have been the house we
kids used to call the "hermit house". The hermit house was one of the few
remaining old wooden houses in the neighborhood, and if I remember
correctly, it looked a lot like the one in the photo. There was a rumor
that a weird guy lived there that no one ever saw. We kids used to sneak
onto the property and poke around. We broke into a shed but there wasn't
much but some trash and old tools. I remember wanting to go there and
look in the windows, but my trespassing came to an end when one of the
kids claimed he saw the hermit on the porch, acting like a madman.
Someone else said he had a gun. That was enough for me to stay the hell
away.
