[bomp] Which Regents?

Is it known for sure whether the particular Regents who made the single
"Words" (the Boyce & Hart tune the Monkees/Leaves/Boston Tea Party did) b/w
"Worryin' Kind" is an American band, or are they British? These songs seem
to have appeared on comps of American garage as well as comps of UK Freakbeat,
so that confuses things. My ears tell me they're American....but has a
definite answer ever been
determined?

Is this single on Reprise? Because I know the Regents who were the house
band at It's Boss on Sunset Strip during 1965/1966 were to have recorded for the
label (I read this in a small publication put out by the club). I know that
particular Regents group also released a house band album from another, very
short-lived club called Jack Martin's A.M.-P.M. on Capitol Records produced by
David Axelrod (who I interviewed... about that LP).

Lots of people confuse this Regents with the 1960 group who recorded the
original version of "Barbara Ann".
