Re: [bomp] where did Tapestry & Fuzz & Who is Jade ???
I've got both the new " Tapestry ... " and " Fuzz ... " and yes there
are a few mistakes / errors etc, but on the whole for something quite that big
( big as in raise yer kid up in the chair their first time at the " big folks
" Thanksgiving dinner table with the phone book big ) and large an
undertaking, and considering the sometimes confused discographys and histories of many of
the artists in both books, I guess one can expect a few errors. I don't
always agree with the opininions expressed on some of the artists and releases, but
the books do make great starting reference points, and are well worth their
somewhat ginormous price. Be aware the shipping costs on them is considerable
too, as they weigh in at a few pounds too.
It's a shame tho' that the site isn't on line and maintained like it
used to be ( the old archives is nice but ... ) so the info could be updated and
corrected more often ... I'd even pay a yearly subscription fee to access the
site, considering how many times a week I used to refer to back the site for
one thing and another, like I do for the " Rock's Back Pages " site, which I
highly recommended ... they have a number of Greg Shaw's reviews and articles he
wrote up there, along with stuff from Ken Barnes, Alan Betrock, Jon Tiven,
and others well worth reading.
Also I'll add that Jade Hubertz usually does have the books in stock (
as does the mothership - BOMP ) but alas Jade doesn't have a website ... along
with the books he stocks a lot of the re-ish stuff one sees reviewed in Ugly
Things Magazine ( Jade's even written reviews for the mighty Things ) and on
the monthly Shindig web site reviews, and for those into more progressive and
kraut rock type goodies he's an outstanding source as well. He ships on time,
packs yer goodies real well and he'll let you know if he has whatever you want
in stock before you pay for something and get stuck with a " credit " ... and
he takes PayPal, so ya don't have to run down to the post office in the middle
of a hurricane to get and post a money order for that Ashkan " In From the
Cold " CD that's apparently more important than tying down the tool shed is ...
Jade usually puts out an update email once a month, and you can email him
about the availability of both the new " Fuzz Acid & Flowers " and " Tapestry of
Delights ", and ask to be put on the mailing update list at his business email
address which I'll be happy to send to anyone who's really interested in doing
business with him ...

Good morning beloved yet unknown Bompsters,
One of my first posts here although I've been on the list for quite some
time now, but anyway, many thanks for being so cool and congregating into
such a cool place on the net.
I'm dying to know how the Tapestry of Delights Revisited turned out and if
anybody got a copy of it yet or knows anyone who has. If anybody knows
please float me some news.
Groove,
Rock,
