One of the only good things I can say about Boston's "oldies" station
(from Gary Puckett to Billy Joel) is that they don't cut off those intros.
And one of the only *bad* things that I can say about Little Steven's
SIRIUS channel is that they seem terrified of not keeping a beat going for a
few seconds. They start a couple of Darlene Love records after the intro, they
don't let the Raspberries' "Overnight Sensation" play beyond the false ending,
and they solve the "motherfuckers/brothers and sisters" dilemma by starting
"Kick Out The Jams" at "Ah, ah, I'm gonna kick 'em out". That a station exists
that plays all these records exists at all is a miracle, but these practices
are still jarring...
