Hi Gang,

I always liked The Music Machine, and I still do. But apparently, they don't think I am cool enough to be "friends" with them on MySpace. An explanation is in order. In early August, I spotted The Music Machine on MySpace. Of course, liking them, I decided to submit a "friendship request" on their MySpace page. Since early August, my "friendship request" was always pending. This happened on three separate occasions of resubmitting a "friendship request." Yesterday morning, I decided to email them to find out why. To make a long story short, they replied back. And it looks as if I am not cool enough for them. What the fuck? Take a look at the email I recieved from Sean Bonniwell.

First let me say your interest and support is highly valued and very much appreciated -- as is the fact that you took the time to 'message' your add request (would that more would do so, as personal contact allows for the courtesy of an explanation). 

While the BMM profile is owned and operated primarily by me, it represents all members -- past & present -- of the Music Machine, our various Record labels, and associated representatives. As such, certain policy guidelines have been agreed to and are in place (with no personal judgements endorsed and/or intended). 

Due to the unlimited number of 'Friends' allowed (many have multiple thousands), its been decided (by the aforementioned committee) that: 

2. The MM or BMM (preferably) must appear in some form or fashion within the requesting profiler's page. 

This may seem arrogant and/or unduly presumptuous, but you'd be amazed by how quickly "fans" of the MM (who tout the Fuzztones and other imitators as "garage rock originators") become insulted by this fair, simple (and historically noted) acknowledgement. As an aficionado of the genera, we're hopeful you agree...
