[bomp] VU Acetate
I've heard the mp3s of the acetate on that Japanese boot. The sound quality
is not at all "unlistenable" as they state in the auction. It does sound
like a scratchy record, and there are a couple skips. On the other hand,
some tracks have a cleaner sound than they did on the first lp - echo and/or
compression muddied them up later on.
The acetate contains early takes of three songs: Venus in Furs, Heroin and
I'm Waiting for My Man.
European Son is the same take but with an additional two minutes of feedback
which sounds great to me.
The other tracks are different mixes, some of which sound very similar to
what was released. I'll Be Your Mirror sounds simpler without any echo than
it does on the first lp, and that's probably the most radical difference in
these mixes.
Speaking of muddied, this auction is really getting so with all kinds of
fake bidders who obviously have no intention on actually buying this thing.
