Hey Bompers-
The Ugly Beats are back from Spain safe and sound, albeit with a few less
brain cells than we went with! What a blast. Highlights: playing with Ron
Splinter at the Primitive Festival in Rotterdam -- one song here:

Also, having Paul Collins sit in with us in Madrid (how frickin cool to have
Paul Collins singing Rock n Roll Girl onstage with you!), and having Gregg
from the Cynics join us on guitar at several shows for a couple Cynics
classics.
If you have some time to kill (or are having a really hard time falling
asleep) check out my blog on the tour:

ALSO, if you're in the Pittsburgh, NYC, NJ area we'll be up there playing
shows with (and backing) the Cynics the first weekend of October. Think of
this as your chance to heckle me for all the stupid sh*t I've stirred up on
this list over the past 10 years. Here are the details:
Thursday October 4th - Pittsburgh, PA - 31st Street Pub
Black Tie Revue/The Ugly Beats/The Cynics *Cynics Record Release Party!
Friday October 5th - Brooklyn, NY - Magnetic Field
Mondo Topless/The Ugly Beats/The Cynics
Saturday October 6th (3-6 pm) LIVE Broadcast at WFMU - Jersey City, NJ The
Ugly Beats and The Cynics (special acoustic set)
Saturday October 6th - Asbury Park, NJ - Asbury Lanes
Mondo Topless/The Ugly Beats/The Cynics
By the way, yes you read that right. A new Cynics record. I've heard it
and it's AMAZING. Very different -- some really pretty ballads w/ acoustic
guitar, piano, so soul sounding stuff (!), and of course plenty of the
killer garage they're known for.
