[bomp] DUSTY will you BOMP me tomorrow!!!
Thanks everyone for trying to help solve the mystery for me of what version
of "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" it was I heard...either by posting in here some
artists who recorded it, or even two of you emailed me MP3s of the
song...Much appreciated.
Using those MP3s as well as the 30-second samples provided on sites like
Amazon and Barnes and Noble's website, I checked out every version that was
suggested here...and I am now pretty sure it was Dusty Springfield's rendition
that I heard...so extra thanks to Count Brockula for pointing me in the
direction of that version.
This station that I mentioned is 740 AM...sometimes they seem to be WNYH out
of Huntington, NY, but other times they seem to be coming from Canada.
They're a time-lease station, which basically means that at any hour or half hour
the music might suddenly stop midway for a call-in medical show. And when
they are playing music, often it's oldies, but sometimes they play
standards...and on Sunday it's all inspirational. But when they do play oldies, it's a
much wider range of oldies than you'll hear on oldies stations like WCBS-FM (I'm
glad they're back, but it's still only a shell of what it used to be,
playing only hits that everybody's already familiar with.) This station, 740 AM,
just played "I Remember You" by Frank Ifield, and are now playing..."Stay
Awhile" by Dusty. How's that for coincidence?
