My tendency there is to deploy lesser known versions
of better (?) known songs. I spun a biweekly, then
weekly, night with friends for a few years which, in
retrospect, at the very least, was far too reliant on
"hits," even if largely ones of our own making.
The real challenge, the real thrill was to discover
those hits, and that they would serve as such, in the
first place. And then to keep finding more ...
Another night @ the same venue hasn't appreciably
altered its set lists in over fifteen years now.
Sure, it's lasted that long, but only by virtue of
boring people playing boring music for other boring
people. And there's plenty of all concerned to go
around there. I've enough ruts I've fallen into ...
