This week my radio shows on Luxuriamusic.com will both have special guests.  

Friday, the Surf 'n' Exotica show "Volcanic Action" (11 p.m. London, 6 p.m. New York, 3 p.m. California) will feature Sven Kirsten, author of both The Book of Tiki and Tiki Modern (Taschen Books) playing a selection of music associated with Exotica restaurants such as Don the Beachcombers, Trader Vics, The Tikis and much, much more.

Sunday, "Riot on Sunset Strip" (6 p.m. London, 1 p.m. New York, 10 a.m. California) will feature Mark Guerrero, a teenage musician in East Los Angeles during the '60s (Mark & the Escorts, The Men from S.O.U.N.D.) whose dad just happened to be Pachuco Jump Blues singer Lalo Guerrero.  Today, Mark has a bitchen website (www.markguerrero.net) where you can trace East L.A. Rock 'n' Roll via a bunch of cool handbills for shows, pictures, etc.  Mark is bringing down some records so be prepared for a festival of Thee Midniters, Cannibal & the Headhunters, The Premiers, The Romancers, Ritchie Valens, Chan Romero, Little Julian Herrera and all your favorite Chicano Rock 'n' Roll artists in a two-hour slam down.
