Re: [bomp] press kits

I think the days of hard copy "press kits" are pretty much in the past. For the last 2 years, SXSW has explicitly asked for "electronic press kits" and said they won't even look at mailed-in hard copy stuff.

I haven't had a bar manager ask me for a press kit any time this century.

The "press" is largely on the internet nowadays, so it figures that's where the Press Kit went too.

So you no longer hafta' print 8x10 glossy photos with your contact info in the corner...gawd, did we really used to do that???

Hi
I know some folks on this list are or have been in bands. So here's
the question: how do you put together a press kit. Have an outside
firm handle it, do it yourself and hang it off the band's web site? We
are releasing material and booking agents have started to ask for our
press kit. This has gotten out of hand
thx
