Rock n Roll movies
this latest thread has prompted me to scour the video store i work at for
rock and roll movies. unfortuneately, we just don't have many. one that i
did find was a mid-50's release called "rock, baby, rock it" that looked
promising. the featured 'bands' (i don't think they were genuine bands)
had names like "the cell block 7" and "preacher and the deacons" mainly
doo-wop and tame rockabilly and a really scarey performance by some
freaky looking twins. it turned out to be a really terrible movie (ed
wood jr would've laughed). i also checked out "wild in the streets."
groovey, baby. i think a good rock n roll movie without rock n roll is
"cool hand luke." rebellion for rebellion's sake. and who'da thunk that
harry dean stanton was such a great gospel troubador?
quote from "rock, baby, rock it"-
stop the world, let me off this crazy ball!
