I'm trying to think who it is, but I know on a recent comp (I think on
Remedial) there's a song called "My Grandpa Is Joey Ramone."

And on the new Groovie Ghoulies record they mention The Queers.

The Queers mention Ben Weasel on one record. ("Ben Weasel, he's an asshole,
Ben Weasel he's a jerk.")

The Donnas mention Nikki Corvette in Gimme My Radio.

On a rather non-Bomp sidetrack, on his debut LP some 10 years back, Roger
Manning sang of fellow NYC antifolk singer Kirk Kelly, "Last night me and
Kirk Kelly, we raved all night long / till the sad bird chirping church
steeple dawn." He also mentions Michelle Shocked (something about being in
Amsterdam and not seeing her around, tho' he "heard she was up early in
that town.") Plus Cindy Lee Berryhill and Woody Guthrie. Of course, whether
he spelled it out or not, at least a couple songs on that record were
easily about his ex-girlfriend, Brenda Kahn. (And many of the songs on
*her* first record were about him. And if you're thinking some of these
songs may not be all that complimentary, you'd be right.)
