Bompers,
My heart swoons to see the names of some of my current favorites posted
here.
More alt country references. The Hangdogs song The Ring mentions the Gear
Daddies, Dwight Yoakam, Buddy Holly, Thumper Jones, Dave Alvin and more.
My theme song by The Graverobbers is I Hate The Radio asks why Hank
Williams, Johnny Thunders, Muddy Waters and Duke Ellington aren't on the air
anymore.
Mary Lou Lord in His Indie world does nothing but mention band names.
Marah's For The Price Of The Song is a direct answer to Townes Van Zandt's
For The Sake Of The Song.
Tim Carroll's Punk Rockin Honky Tonk Girl brings up Hank Williams as does
his song I Think Hank Would've Done It This Way.
Waco Brothers song Death Of Country Music again asks what's wrong with
Jonny Cash, Goerge Jones, etc. As does Dale Watson's Nashville Rash.
I guess that's kinda a running theme of my show.
Anyway, those are off the top of my head. Guess I've got to much time on
my hands at 6am.
