baby, you're driving me crazy
i'm going out of my head
now i wish i was dead
you turn me on, then you cut me down
tell me baby, am i just your clown
[PSYCHO!] -----------this is the part that's missing after each verse

the GOOD news is that if you pick up the sonics' "Maintaining my cool" disc on
jerden, you DO get the original version. does anyone know why the version w/
the altered vocal track even exists? it's definitely not a different version
of the song - everything is totally the same on both versions, only the one on
the etiquette reissue is missing the most critical screams in the song!

Hi J
You are wright!It's no good.

And in the Big Beat CD I can hear the screams!! I feel this is more heavey sound
because of remastering.

I have one more Sonics.
LP [he Sonics featuring the witch and psycho]This is consisted their 3rd album
exept Witch and Psycho. SN1002 Punk records may be bootleg.
I can heare the screams in it.

It sounds as though somebody way bakc when figured that the to-be-cut
part was offensive and released a "radio" edit. Thanks for this info,
'cause I heard an uncut version on a local college radio show (it's on
mbr 88.1 on Tuesday nights from 6-8 pm -- the plug) and i would be mighty
disappointed to find this out after shelling out some $.

Has anyone heard any of the 2 new Radio Birdman reissues? I saw 'em today at
Midnight Records in NYC and they were asking $28 a piece for them which
seemed rather steep, even for Aussie imports. Is the sound really that much
better? True, there were some bonus tracks but nothing that hasn't been
released before.

Absolutely! Of course I only had a taped copy of _Under The Ashes_ before,
so the new releases sound infinitely better.

Particularly 'Living Eyes", which was remastered from original multi-track
tapes for the first time. If you are being charged $28 US for them, you are
being ripped off. Even Japanese stuff in the US is only $18 to $22 usually,
and Japanese stuff would cost importers a lot more than Australian, even
allowing for the fact that RRP for Australian CDs here is $28 (US$22).
