To give you an overview of the Radio Birdman reissues:

Radios Appear was remastered by Rob Younger and Don Bartley at EMI and
contains what we considered to be the best of the original local
australian version on Trafalgar plus the best of the world release
version on Sire. It is approx 6db hotter than any previous release and
I believe is the best sounding. In fact when I heard it, I heard stuff
on there I hadn't heard since we sat in the control room for the
playbacks in '76.

The art work is updated and is pretty cool.

The first couple of thousand has a bonus disc of the original EP and
some mystery stuff at the end, I don't know if any of these are still
around.

Living Eyes contains all the songs we recorded at the Rockfield
sessions in 1978 except one. The original release being single vinyl
could only hold 11 (12?) so I think there are about 5 songs on there
that haven't seen the light of day before except on terrible quality
boots.

Also me and Rob remixed the whole thing from the original 2" 24 track
masters (6 boxes of 'em) which were found gathering mould in the
archives of Rockfield. The previous releases were a rough version we
were never very happy with. We think it sounds OK now. Also it has a
new cover photo, not the stupid looking "pensive" shot of Robs face we
had before.

I am quite embarrassed to hear these ridiculous prices. Anyone
interested could try contacting Red Eye Records (the store, not the
label) at 011.61.2.2338177 phone or 011.61.2.2235219 fax. They might be
able to cut you a direct mail order deal that would be more economical.

Of course, the real solution is to get the albums released in the USA
at normal prices which we are working very hard to do.

BTW we just finished mastering the new Radio Birdman live album, we
recorded it on our tour in January, it's not too bad.

Anyone interested in picking up copies of my solo stuff and / or
Visitors CDs can contact me direct, as I have a few in an old box
somewhere in the house.

Regards

Deniz Tek
