having spent some time in the netherworld of tv collectors I should
mention that...

none of the big radio air-check collectors have any Dave Diamond tapes
(yes he was an LA are DJ) it's very frustrating tracking that crap down...
although they got tapes of the Mad Daddy, Hot Rod Rog Christian, etc...

I have seen a comp of french canadian rock videos... some are from
kinescopes (black & white film from a tv screen) others better quality
films, etc... some look like they were shown on much music or it's
quebec equivalent

The most famous 13th floor elevators appearance is the commonly avail
Where the Action Is appearance (how odd/ lucky that of the first 20 or
so Actions in collectors hand one included the elevators...)
I am unaware of a Music Machine tape currently available... is this
video or audio? all bands lip-sync on American Bandstand (except BB
King) so video is of most importance...
The 13th Floor elevators had many tv appearances in TX of which I have
a few on bootleg or semi-legit lps... I have not seen any other films
although I may forward this to King Coffey- he's friends with Roky...

Here's a tip for all you fans of The Third Bardo's garage great "I'm Five
Years Ahead of my Time." (Sorry if someone found this earlier, but I'm
fairly new to the list.) There's a smoking version of this cut on a
Monster Magnet import CD single "Look to Your Orb for the Warning." The
rest of this disc is marginal (16 minutes of electronic noodling based on
the movie "Forbidden Planet" is for fans only). And $9 a pop is pricey
even for demented collectors, but what the hey it's only money.

I understand that the Nomads (from Sweden) remade this, but I haven't had a
chance to compare the two. But if you liked the original, you'll love the
remake from Monster Magnet.

Can anyone tell me a bit about either the Cynics or the Hypnotics? I
seem to recall seeing mention of the Cynics somewhere, so I suspect
they're garage/pysch-pop oriented. As for the Hypnotics, I've never
heard of them before, but have seen a modestly priced cd with band
members mugging on the cover- looking more than a little like the
packaging of the Stooges' Funhouse. Is this stuff worthwhile?

Your pal doesn't have any Ug shows on video, does he? I know there were
a couple of Stingrays videos released...
