Hi Menachem
I think so. Diggin' for Gold is one of most killer comp.
But to find original vinyll Garage punk unknown is difficult now.
I have only 2,4 and latest8. I can't find another volume now.
I have all volumes in tape ,I love all of them.

                                             Hitomi

But Garage Punk Unknowns #2 is just a collection of tracks off of the old
vinyl
series of the same name, and so has NO bonus cuts whatsoever! Save your
cash for volumes of Diggin' For Gold - the best comp series with regular
releases
at the moment.

Hitomi asked whether the Shadows of Knight cut on the garage punk
video I posted about was "Shake." It is indeed. It sounds like
we're talking about the same tape.

Folks,

On the dreaded subject of Mike Love, I have this recent message
from Mike Whitney to share. Whitney is a singer/songwriter who
does the solo acoustic thing around Atlanta and is one helluva
nice guy. Mike Love, as we know, is not. Here's what Whitney says:

"Greg,

I heartily echo the sentiments re: Mike Love. What a jerk, and
no sense of humor. Once in 1985 he came into Dante's Down the
Hatch (Buckhead location), and I, riding a high from having
recently met actor Gary Busey (who was in town filming the Bear
Bryant docu-drama THE BEAR) and getting my photo made together
with him, saw Love (?) walk in front of me as I performed. Not
being a Beach Boys fan, I had no Golden Oldie ready to fall into,
so I jokingly said, "Come on up and do a medley" or something
like that. He glared at me, never breaking stride, and said, "I
 don't play guitar, man."

Ted Turner and Robert Mitchum (composer of "Thunder Road") were
all nice guys, but Mike Love....

- -- M. Whitney"
