The Burning Rain might use one. I remember a track on their "Pictures in
the Fire" LP that sounded dead on the Elevators, including the jug.

Yeesh...
I thought almost all the bands were really nice.

Oh yeah, in re the People magazine thing...
I think there are still many of us who remember the photo spread
they did on the garage scene in the mid-80s.

Yes it is polyphonic. There's a pretty detailed chapter on the Mellotron
in the book _Vintage Synthesizers_ which just came out (and is available in
most common bookstores).

Beatles is coming out with a new C-D called ''Archaeology'' -- a parody of

Hi, y'all.

The September issue of Cosmik Debris comes out on the 5th, and in it
you'll find the following...

 * An interview with Rick Johnson and Pete Curry of The Halibuts - Plus
   a Halibuts CD giveaway

 * An interview with multi-instrumentalist Beth Custer, who splits time
between Trance Mission and The Club Foot Orchestra (the latter of which
does the soundtracks for the surreal new Felix The Cat cartoons).

 * A Review of Townshend, Entwistle and Daltrey's Quadrophenia concerts
   at Madison Square Garden.

 * A Review of the book "Please Kill Me: An Uncensored Oral History Of Punk"
by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain

 * Shaun Dale disects the GOP, DEMO and REFORM conventions.

 * Cai Campbell's Audio File column. Topic: The pursuit of quad.

 * Reviews of over 40 LP's, singles, CD's and tapes, including releases
by Gorilla, Bush Tetras, Bronfman, Roland Kirk, The Fathoms, The
Lively Ones, John Lee Hooker and Canned Heat, Mad Professor, The Paul
Collins Band, Thorazine, Mystic Revealers, Pink Floyd, 808 State and
   others.

 * And Phil Dirt's popular column, Phil's Garage. Topic of the month:
The Beach Velvet -vs- Aqua Boys.

Plus the usual assortment of columns and debris. Hey, the Debris Field
even has a recipe from an ancient Roman cookbook. Strange stuff!

As usual, you can find it at http://www.greatgig.com/cosmikdebris
or you can ftp to serv.net/pub/moonbaby to download the ascii version.
OR you can send me e-mail for a free subscription.

And that concludes this monthly spam. Good bless you, and God night.

Hey wow!

For some reason I didn't get ANY messages from the Bomp list on Tuesday!
I think what happened is that my company shut down the entire system this
weekend because everyone was freaking out about this stupid hurricane (that
didn't do a damn thing to the Boston area, BTW...just Cape Cod).

Is there a copy of the aforementioned article? I went to a party in Tim's
hotel room that evening. It was upstairs from mine and got broken up with-
in a 1/2 hour. When people started to get too rowdy, he threatened them
with his penis!

Sad he should say that about the other bands. I didn't talk to everyone
there, but I talked to alot of the people, and at least 4 of the bands are
friends/acquaintances of mine.

I missed this People magazine thing.

BTW, does anyone know what became of any of the videos shot at Treblefest?
I should be in at least some of them!

Well, I don't know about THAT!!!!

>I'm dubious.

You should be. I mean, they weren't BAD. I was impressed enough to buy
an LP. I would NOT say they were anywhere near the best band. It looks
like SOMEBODY needs an ego adjustment!

Hmmm...I may not be making friends here, eh? I'm not being very
diplomatic! Oh well...

>Apparently Tim is putting on a similar concert here called Trips '96.
>These things sure are proliferating!

Yes, I've been trying to get one started here for about a year now! So
far, the clubs have blown me off but the BANDS I've talked to all want
to do it. The garage scene is not all THAT big here in Boston, at least
for current stuff. I think that the people who are into it just don't
go out. I know the feeling. When I first moved back here, I felt like
no one knew what the hell I was ever talking about!

Of course, if I knew what I was doing...THEN maybe I could get it done.
Also, one certain booking agent here just gave me this big attitude and
said, "I've never heard of ANY of these bands." So, hey. It's just me.
Queen of Her World. I'd probably lose TONS of money, but in a way, it
would be worth it to book the bands I want to see!

Well, I seem to have caught a nasty ol' headcold over the weekend, so
forgive me for babbling as I sometimes get delirious.

hmmm...you got an invalid address? Now THAT's odd.
