favorite Beatle: tie between George Martin and Billy Preston
favorite Monkee: Mike Nesmith (ever see the episode where Mike swaps looks
                   with Frank Zappa?)
hottest/sexiest bomp-related rockers: Iggy Pop, no questions asked.
Fashion: highly influenced by the James Williamson tight jeans, also Iggy's
stretch jeans as seen in the cincinatti pop festival(but who wants
to open that can of worms, I mean peanut butter)
bragging: "I Got Nothin'"
I wish...I could have seen Santo and Johnny Farina live on stage. or the

John, before he got tedious, then Ringo for putting up with all that b.s.

Sorry, but it's either Debbie Harry, or the hippie's dreamboat
     Michelle Phillips.

     4. FASHION: DO YOU HAVE FAVORITE ITEMS OF CLOTHING THAT APPLY TO THE

I'm a serious pack-rat; not only do I hit at least one
flea-market/thrift shop/yard sale every week, but I *never* throw
     anything away. It's pretty scary.

A swell score last summer; while visiting my in-laws one day, my
mother-in-law asked me if I wanted any old records (lp's), before she
tossed them (they were all ready to go to the dump). I said "Sure, I'll
check 'em". In the box was Pink Floyd's first, G. Dead's first (mono),
etc., and a bunch of promos from a Boston radio station: Bohemian
Vendetta, Savage Resurrection, Autosalvage, Mortimer, and lot's more. My
wife said "I think there's more at the farm". At her family farm in Maine,
I found Eden's Children (2 different) Wonderwall Music and more. Also a
stack of 45's including a great single by The What? that covers
"Summertime" on the a-side and on the b-side is a classic Dylan rip-off
"The Escape" that is a note-for note swipe of "All Along the Watchtower",
but with altered lyrics and a mighty fuzzed-out guitar. Credited to "Rob
Dillon" on the label. Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

     6. WHO DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE SEEN FROM THE 1950S:
1960S; AND 70'S, WHO YOU COULDN'T NOW POSSIBLY SEE PERFORM LIVE?

     Obviously, Rob Dillon.

Well, Arthur's not dead, but he is out of comission for 6-8 years after an
embarrassing little incident in a hotel room a couple months ago. Seems Mr.
Lee was having too good of a time and lost it. He betgan shooting a gun in
his hotel room and was arrested. I never did hear the *exact* charges
against him, but at least he's alive and has plenty of time to write new
material!

I wonder if Mr. Clark will visit him in jail to reminisce....

Hmm, I'd heard that one of Arthur's apartment complex neighbors asked him to
turn his stereo down and Arthur responded with a few pistol shots in the air.
The incident definitely happened in Van Nuys, California. In any event, Arthur
will be incarcerated for 8 years due to California's "three strikes" law.

The clip of A Message To Pretty was included on a compilation tape of

SO, EXPLAIN YOUR ODESSEY OF THOUGHT...

George had the best hair (for a while anyway) and was generally the
most handsome. Gotta look out for those quiet types though.
Nowadays I tend to appreciate Paul, as he's taken a larger interest in
current music as well as his own obvious business intersts.

2. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE MONKEE? THE SAME TWO ABOVE QUESTIONS APPLY....

Chim Chim. He was treated as a sidekick, but always contributed
more than he was given credit for. Spridle would've never made it
without him.

3. WHO ARE THE HOTTEST/SEXIST BOMP-RELATED ROCKERS?

Bomp rockers aren't sexy. They're snarly, snotty and anemic.

4. FASHION: DO YOU HAVE FAVORITE ITEMS OF CLOTHING THAT APPLY TO THE
MUSIC DISCUSSED ON THIS LIST? (do you dress the part?) WHAT ROCKERS HAVE
INFLUENCED YOUR FASHION?(, IF APPLICABLE...)

Well that's a rather personal question. I wear my chelsea boots
with gym socks and one of those 1963 Stones era leather vests.
Sometimes I set the outfit off with some paisley boxers, but most
often not. That's pretty mod, isn't it?

5. BRAG TO US ABOUT YOUR COLLECTABLES, MEMORABILIA, RARE REKKIDS, ETC.

I have the bag of potato chips that the Shadows of Knight flexi came
in, but I ate the flexi. One of the potato chips looks just like
Henry Kissinger.

6. WHO DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE SEEN FROM THE 1950S:
1960S; AND 70'S, WHO YOU COULDN'T NOW POSSIBLY SEE PERFORM LIVE?

The Monks. I hear they did a killer Kyrie Elaison
The Electric Prunes. Full of Fiber!
The Small Faces. Steve was cute with a moustache.
Creation. The Event smashing TV's doesn't come close.

Actually he appeared in "The Subject Was Roses" (1968) based on a broadway
play of the same title. He also had a small role in "Then Came Bronson"
(1971). There might have been others, but those two come to mind.

Pez, Pez, and more Pez.... There are a lot of Pez's out there.

I also had one of those little black boxes where you put the coin on an
outside slot, and a little battery-operated man pops out, and grabs it.
They were real popular in the late-60s.

And don't forget the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth T-shirts, which are now comming back.

Skidoo is totally worth seeing, if you can find a copy. Groucho plays a mafia
boss and he's pretty cool, but the real genius is Jackie Gleason, who plays a
hitman who takes LSD in prison. They end up putting acid in the prison's food
supply and everyone, including the guards and warden, turns into hippies.
Completely demented. I don't recall any bands being in it, though, but it
hardly matters. I could dub it for some of you, but my second VCR is broken
and I have no way to do it at the moment, unfortunately.

Hello Bomp wizards,

I first found a Lipstick Killers 7" on Voxx. Hindu Gods of Love /
Shakedown USA. 1980, No Sleeve, Blue label, ref : VOXX 45-1003.
Produced by Deniz Tek.

I also found the same reference but with grey label and with a sleeve (red
lips in front and bondage/murder on back sleeve).
Even Mark Taylor and Peter Tillman never saw this sleeve issue. Does
anybody knows this 7" story ?

Hey Gang,

I found some crazy 45's recently, anybody know anything about these babies?
#1 The U.F.O. Run Away Boy b/w Lucky This is a super crude pre-teen garager
with playing abilities slightly better than the Shaggs. Love those
pre-puberty vocals!
No Label

#2 The Stix 'N' Stones - Sometimes Good Guys don't Wear White b/wAll I Really
Want To Do on the Impex label out of Philly Pa. This has more reverb than I
have ever heard on a record of this sort. So much that the drums almost
double on top of each other, crazy!

#3 Question for Greg- The Medallions 45 Leave Me Alone from Wisconsin on
Warped records was written by Ralph Mullin. Could this be the Ralph Mullin
who turned up In The H.G. Lewis Classics Blast Off Girls, Just For The Hell
Of It and She Devils On Wheels? He was the drummer for the Big Blast aka
Faded Blue. Maybe the record or group is from Illionis?

#4 The Druids - It's A Day on Columbia The question is, Are these guys
Limeys or what? They sound like it to me ?

That's it for today more weird records coming your way soon!

I dress the part at '60s oriented shows (about once a year) and when the

I hope you've has as much fun reading this as I did writing it...

I just realized that this is the pefect forum to ask a question I have
agonized over for a long, long time:

Years ago, on Nick at Night, I saw an episode of "Gidget" where she
falls for a guitar-weilding, denim-clad beatnick/badboy with a
motorcylce. He's a rebel, and during the show he serenades Gidget with
an acoustic version of the song "Blow Your Mind", by (I don't remember
the name o' the groop)..."Our hair's too long, our music's wrong, and
we're too immature..." I couldn't believe it! Has anyone seen this
episode? Who played the beatnick/badboy and how did they ever decide to
use that song? Is the actor in question a member of the band that wrote
the song?

Also, in unrelated matters, does anyone know of a Doc Martins website or
a shooo store that has a killer selection? A Domestic store is
preferred, but Europe is okay too.
Thanx
