Chris:

I'm not too well versed in what's out there: do you have any Stooges or
early (i.e.: prior to "96 "reunion" ) Birdman boots?

I almost went for elephantitis, but was caught in a crisis of faith
regarding the spelling. Blenorrhea's pretty awful, too.

I ran into Frank Manlin (ex-Optic Nerve, Ravens, & Fad) a couple weeks
back. He mentioned that The Optic Nerve were planning another reunion
show in early February. He thought it'd be on a Thursday night, but
mentioned February 7th (a Friday), so... who knows? Either way, it'll be
in NYC. I'll try and get more details.

Oh yeah, he also said he and Bobby Belfiore are considering maybe
bringing the band to Europe!

On the Headless Horsemen front...
The guys are reuniting for (what I assume is) a one-off on
Saturday February 8th at Continental on 3rd Ave just above St. Mark's
Place in NYC. Also on the bill are The Gnats.

I think that the best thing Bow Wow Wow had going was their drummer,
Dave Barbarrosa. The guy was a maniac on the traps! Wish I had a
set of his drums, they looked like acid-warped saxophones from what
I remember.

Some friends of mine are shopping around for labels to
put out a 45 or LP/CD. One of them mentioned wanting to
get the address for Dog Meat. Does anyone have this
address?

If you have your own label and may be interested, email
me privately at Andrea_Lauritzen@Aspentech.com.

Thanks

Dave Barbarosa was good, but howzabout that bass on
"roustabout"??? Car-azy!

Pick up a couple of things this weekend:

Mickey and Ludella - "Bedlam-A-Go Go" -- this is excellent!
Girls in the Garage Vol. 7 (haven't heard it yet)
Girls in the Garage Vol. 6 1/2 (ditto; this is a 7")
M.O.T.O. - "E Plurabis Moto" -- I love this! Paul Caporino
is so funny! I just heard of M.O.T.O. about 3 years ago,
and now I finally got around to picking up something of
theirs.

This fact only further puzzles me because there was none of that flash on
the "Chiefs of Relief" album(BWW w/o A. Lwin).

I heard that they played slower in concert. I should hope so!

Hey folks!
I don't know who a lot of you are beyond the Bomp list (there's a lot
of CC's in the return address.
This is in response to TweeKid's posting of his wonderful setlist
from WFDU-FM. I was on college radio in Cleveland (WRUW-FM) from '73-78.
I have only one surviving aircheck & one surviving playlist. I thought
I'd post the playlist. (BTW, I'm only posting the Pop portion of the
list. The same crumbling piece of paper also has a setlist of a jazz how
I did 3 days later. let me know if you're interested.
The show was called OPEN UP SAID THE WORLD AT THE DOOR, was on from.
I think, 2-5 on Wednesday afternoons. This list is from Sept 6 '74, the
day before my 19th birthday (god was I ever 18? I'm 41 now!!)

No, I don't work for them, and chain stores like that tend to scare
me...but if you have one in your town, check it out! Yesterday, I
bought :
1. Barry&The Remains best of-CD put out by Sony in 1991-the title of
which escapes me but fanatics will know...
2. A "Marvin the Martian" mouse pad

and I saw a cool Sundazed CD comp, the title again which escapes me, a
Bonzo Dog band section(w/peel sessions and an import I've never before
seen), and a decent soundtrack section with titles like THE DAY THE
EARTH STOOD STILL. Plus a friend bought IT'S RAINING TODAY-Scott Walker
from there....
It ain't no Wal-Mart I'll tell ya' that!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I second Lounge Laura's opinion. I've found that most Best Buy's usually
have something to interest even the most demented music collector. I can
kill a pleasuable hour or two just browsing the racks. In the past few
years, I've found discs by:

The Miracle Workers
The Searchers three disc compilation
The Church's "Hindsight"
Lots of Sundazed stuff, including vol. 3 of Psychedelic Microdots, the
Vejtables, the Mojo Men and the E-Types.
Ed Kuepper, the Saints and the Aints
Stiff Little Fingers best of--on One Way
I just lose track of it all.

Added bonus one: if you're in a town with more than one Best Buy, you soon
find that the selection in each store can be pretty idiosyncratic. A
little hunting can uncover some real gems in different stores.

Added bonus two: the Nintendo/Sega/Sony Playstation section is right near
the CD areas. Keeps the kids entertained while you shop!!!!

I don't work for them either--I'm just a regular customer.
