Then again, perhaps it had a Richard Simmonsish effect and actually
motivated these wild boys and girls to go out and drop the $ for a CD
player...

I would also "Shadows Are Go" among the most vital US reissues of the year.
It's about time we got to hear the Shadows without having to scour the
world for expensive imports...

I don't have either the Collectable or Eva reissues; however, I do have a
compilation that was released on Big Beat (UK) in 1984 that starts off
with 12 We The People tracks. The compilation is entitled "I Turned into
A Helium Balloon" and the 12 tracks are:

Mirror of Your Mind
The Color of Love
You Burn Me Up and Down
St. John's Shop
In the Past (later covered by Chocolate Watch Band on "The Inner
Mystique" in 1968, although this was actually Ed Cobb's
             studio session players)
Half of Wednesday
My Brother, The Man
Free Information
Too Much Noise
By The Rule
Alfred, What Kind of Man Are You
Beginning of the End

Hope this helps some.

You got it

Declaration of Independence
(You Are The) Color of Love
In The Past
Free Information
Alfred What Kind of Man Are You
By The Rule
Half Of Wednesday
My Brother The Man
Too Much Noise
He Doesn't Go About It Right
St John's Shop
You Burn Me Up And Down
Mirror Of Your Mind
Beginning Of The End

The big difference, the Collectables compilation is from masters and the EVA
disc from badly beat vinyl! Really beat. However the EVA disc has WEP's
RCA tracks while the Collectables issue contains all the Chalenger releases.
Other than that, they are pretty close.

Andrea sez..

<<To the best of my knowledge, "Fathomless" was released on CD only. I
recall
having a discussion with a friend about this, and his opinion was that by
releasing only a CD, the band alienated part of their potential audience. I
have to agree with him, because I could name at least three people who do not

own a CD player, and if each of us can name at least three...[so on and so
on]. >>

Yer right! I'll never get one and it'll never be reviewed in my wife's zine
either. As far as we're concerned, it's a disc-non-grata!! I DO see their
point, however. I just don't care to have any.
