No I didn't hear about it! Did he have any involvement with the fairly
recent Creation reunion that resulted in the album "Power Surge"?

I just recently bought the Edsel CD "How Does It Feel To Feel," and was
exposed to the "red with purple flashes" Modrock of the Creation, and to
find out that one of the artistic forces behind the group has passed on is
sad news indeed.

Re: Twang!

>damn!-that twang! cd is awful with hank's tune bein one of the worst songs on

Wow and to think I almost bought that CD without never having heard more
than one Shadows tune. What's so bad about it? Are the new arrangements
simply given too much artistic license? I'd really hate to hear someone
butcher something like "F.B.I." or "Spring Is Nearly Here"...

I simply prefer CDs because of the convenience of it all. I am as careful
with them as I can be to avoid scratching them or anything like that. Now
if I see a record of some collectible value that I can afford, or if I find
records by a group that simply aren't on CD (like my two Every Mother's
Son's LPs), I buy it.

I've also attained a weakness for 45s. Even the old ones can be cheap and
you can find some gems in the most unlikely places.

I have two LPs by the Scottish neo-Merseybeat band the Kaisers. One has
been reissued on CD, but I figure what's the point? Part of the appeal to
me of the Kaisers records is that they seem so authentic.

So I don't really go into the upsides and downsides of CD vs. vinyl. I just
go with whatever I can find, but I just prefer CDs for some reason...

while the last two years or so the singlesmarket has definitely
collapsed (for whatever reason),the vinyl lp is still very strong.
on any full length title on demolition derby i sell an average of
60 % vinyl,40 % cd,in several cases the percent of vinyl is even bigger.
while you need the cd version in order to reach certain bigger distri-
butors who only (or at least mainly) deal in cd's,for garage/surf/
punkrock etc the mailorders, small specialised stores etc are still an
important part of the market & those almost exclusively order vinyl.
i run a mailorder too & for me it's the same,cd sales are maybe 2 or
3 % of my sales, then fanzines about the same & all the rest is vinyl,
the people who come to me to get their stuff are not interested in cd's
they come cos they want to get it on vinyl.

I'm new to the list, so sue me if I'm telling you all something that you
already knew... but I heard in the newspaper and on the local news that
Gonn is getting back together to do a European tour! Yep, bassist Craig
Moore lives here in Peoria where he runs a record store, and drummer Dave
Johnson lives in nearby Pekin. I drove all the way to Keokuk, Iowa to see
their last reunion show in 1990, and it was genius! Anybody that gets a
chance to check these guys out should definitely do so, and please post a
review of the show. I wish I could make it myself... but Europe's too far
of a drive! Anyhoo, the tour is to happen in the month of February, so as
soon as they get back, and I work up the nerve, I'm goin' down to the Peoria
Record Company to ask Craig if he'd like to record "Doin' Me In" with my
band 13 Frightened Girls. Why not? We're recording "Blackout Of Gretely"
next week... Also, someone told me about a possible Gonn/Lyres gig. Cool
idea, but I think they were full of shit... Until next time, shake it easy...

I'm sure you've gotten many requests already, but please remove our

nice and not playing by the rules.
