Today at a friend's house I heard the most incredible version ever of The
Easybeats' "Gonna Have A Good Time" by The Klingers on Columbia, an all-girl
band from (I think) the West Coast recorded sometime in '68 or '69, produced
by Kim Fowley. It's got this great "Gimme Some Lovin'" organ riff in the
begining and these really wonderful, Suzi Quartro type vocals. Has anyone
else out there heard it. Does anyone have a copy for sale or trade?

I've not only heard this, I have a video of these gals lip-synching to it
on TV (and man, are they hot!!!). I still don't have the 45, but am
avidly seeking one... the other Clingers 45 I have is not as good. What
blows my mind is the Fowley credit, I mean these gals are the prototype
Runaways for sure (but to me much more appealing.) I didn't realize he
was involved, he's not listed on the label of my MGM Clingers 45.

Speaking of Fowley, a friend of mine just got a 45 on Chattahoochie by the
Hollywood Argyles called something like "Long Hair Unsquare Cat Named
Jack" with Fowley singing that is hilarious! Keep an eye pealed for this
one.

Yes, it's true...I'll give a report of what's weird in the North
East(like ya'll don't know), but I'd like to say just one thing:
Pulp does not suck.

Laura

Thank you for your comment about Pulp. I do believe the single version of
Babies and Do You Remember the First Time are great pop. Babies really
rocks on the Live boot. "Get Frisky." And no matter what the tune is, the
lyrics and the humor are too cool to suck. (Although Different Class is a
bit of a letdown but at least they got some decent production.)
