"Have Love, Will Travel" was a staple during his encores on the "Tunnel
of Love" tour, 1988.

Dunno about Mick Blood specifically, but the Lime Spiders (presumably
including Mr Blood) are playing some outdoor indie festival on the (Aussie)
east coast in the next few months. Don't know if this is a one-off or a real
reformation...

GaryM, very nice story! Have you checked the WhoNews refined listserver? It's
been getting rave reviews.

Re: Jane Birken .. I looooove that song. Many a time was it the soundtrack for
a cheezy skiing short film in obviously 16mm format!

Oh! maintenant, vien!

Very nice find indeed. Wonder where I might find that song on CD......?

Now wasn't Serge some sort of pervert (my kind of guy) ? Didn't he just pass away a few
years back? I forgot the details. Laura, could you fill me in on this?

Thanks.

O.K. you want garage bands? You've got 'em. Portland's own Fred Cole, a.k.a. Dead Moon,
played in the Lollipop Shop in the sixties. (What was their single?). Dead Moon played Sat.
before last, and the week before that was the Obvlivion Seekers (with Mark Sten, or Stenula,
if you will, who played in a band called King Bee with - ah yes, none other than Fred Cole.
They have one of the coolest garage band singles in the universe, from 1978, it's
Hot Pistol/Zip Gun. I have it. Fred has an uncanny vocal resemblance to Robert Plant, but
somehow it works in this single.... Released by Whizeagle Records (the store Fred and Tutti
Cole ran with the drummer from King Bee, Tutti's brother, I believe). All in the family!).

This is amazing! Man, the local oldies station here in Seattle won't
play either the Sonics or the Wailers, which makes no sense at all.

I believe Andy Parypa even >played in the Kingsmen for a short stint
there.

Yes, he did.

Hmmm, I'd also like to know which Sonics song he covers. I do know that
he has done "Have Love Will Travel" which the Sonics covered. In the
liner notes to a mid-80s reissue of the first Sonics album I have it
does mention Springsteen saying he was influenced by the Sonics,
though!

ummm, maybe i'm just really stupid, but what band are you in TJ? I keep
on going through Estrus bands in my head and I'm not getting a
substantial "click." maybe it's because i'm on a caffiene low...oh, and
would anyone like to comment on Jack Oblivians latest solo effort?
"American Slang" i found the second side cool but the use of what
appeared to be syths was kind of dissapointing, especially on "Robot
Lover." overall, it was cool enough, with definate highs and lows.

"You Must Be A Witch" was the Lollipop Shop's 'hit' single as far as I can
remember...

No, dude, you're not stupid, and you can't blame it on caffeine deficiency
either. I'm in 13 Frightened Girls- we have two 45's coming out- one on
Estrus and one on Get Hip. Still have to get the camera ready artwork off
to Get Hip for the sleeve- that's the only thing holding us up with them.
Estrus, on the other hand, was supposed to do the 45 in the spring, but with
the fire and all... who knows? You'll notice when I referred to us as an
Estrus band that it was in the future tense- at least that's how I intended
it, but I guess I didn't make that very clear. Sorry I confused you, Buck.
