This is for on-line listening.
As my provider doesn't allow real audio service on-line, I've put
real audio sounds off-line on my pages.
People download the file and listen to it on his computer locally and
when he wants, even off-line.
The price for the real-audio player is free, and the encoder too.

I choose real audio because of the price, and the compression.
You can choose 28K but it's quite distorded. I chose a T1
compression level. This is a good balance between sound quality and
file size. As you listen to it locally, the compression method affect
only the quality and not the speed.
For interviews, 28K compression is OK.

What i like when i get sound files on the Internet is having an idea
of the styles, the sound and compos. I don't need the whole sound
quality.

Thanks for the message
"Love is my life" was sung by another vocalist Dave Hirao.
Kenneth played side guiter .

He sung ' Grolia' , but We can't listen the early garage version
it was not recorded. I know only later progressive version,
but he sung killer with cool cutting guiter. (It is including same
album of Zen Blues which appeare on Planet X 03)
Sorry the album is Japanese release only.

I don't agree with that. Maybe it's just here in the Northeast, but if
you hang out at the left-hand side of the dial, you can find plenty of
interesting public/college-radio stations. And as one of the local
dj's says "It's not just for stripey-shirt boys and barrette girls"
either. I may not always hear things I like, but I do hear lots of
music that the commercial stations will never play: blues, exotica,
indy rock (yeah, I know), old-time radio, obscure jazz, etc etc. As a
matter of fact, if you're ever in Maine, tune into Maine Public radio
(about 4-5 different stations) on Monday nights at 11:00 PM for an
unusual take on oldies radio. He (forget the djs name) plays only new
entries to the Billboard Hot 100 from 25 and thirty years ago. Talk
about obscure; and what an odd variety of music. You are certainly
right about commercial radio, though, and I have yet to find any shows
devoted to the '60s garage/psyche stuff that I like.

     >why would you want to listen to someone else's stinky station on your

I was thinking more along the lines of how the Web works. We've got
sites for SCOTS, Man or Astroman, The Mermen, The Kingsmen, Sam the
Sham, Swingin' Medallions, well you get the idea... and often with the
cooperation/input of the artists themselves. It's the ability to
narrow-cast and be totally fannish about it that intrigues me.

Did someone say cable modems? About 10x the speed of a T1 is what I
heard. And wouldn't that also imply FM quality sound, or better? Some
towns near me have it now, but it is pricey (like most new
     technology).

Right. I was generalizing, and referring more to the commercial side of the
dial; this is also what I had in mind when I wrote

> >why would you want to listen to someone else's stinky station on your

You're right about the artist sites and fan narrow-casting, etc. Many of
these already have digitized sound clips, and as the technology improves and
prices fall it will eventually be possible for fans to conduct their own
"webcasts." (I'm already preparing for the "All-Upper Crust (and bands the
guys in the Upper Crust were in before the Upper Crust)" station. Gotta come
up with a catchier title, though!)

I'm dying for a cable modem myself, but they're not available in my area or
most others. In some cases, cable systems will have to re-wire their systems
before they can be deployed. Most cable operators don't sense enough of a
demand for cable modems to justify the infrastructure changes they'd have to
make. Fortunately, some operators are starting to rebuild their systems
anyway to allow for increased channels and/or digital video, and cable modems
will benefit from this as well. Still, it's a slow process.

I can't wait to see them either! I'll have to pass on the Normal show,
because it's a long way from Boston. Maybe Mick will be at the Detroit Fest
and I can convince him to bring his new combo to Boston. I never had a chance
to see the Gories, but I had a great time seeing Blacktop and dancing with
Mick. I've seen the Demolition Doll Rods and I'm not a HUGE fan of theirs (my
friend Bob loves them though). I'm not 100% sure what Peg is up to, 'cept
that she's living in New Orleans and hangin' with Chilton. Sometimes I hear
that she said she'll "never play drums again" and then I hear that she's

else. She has a great voice.

well, speaking of SCOTS...(not that y'all haven't had enough yet) i ought
to take this opportunity to mention that on the SCOTS fan site
<http://www.chapel-hill.nc.us/scots/> we do have RealAudio of the entirety
of the hard-to-nearly-impossible-to-find SCOTS rekkid, "Too Much Pork",
released in 1991 on Moist Records. it's 28.8 RealAudio 2.0 so it's not
quite as spiffy as 3.0 or the RealPlayer 4.0 version, but you'll be hard
pressed to find that record else where. y'all come have a listen if you're
so inclined.

There is indeed a WHOLE lot of Motown that I loved & much that I still
love dearly; I should have phrased that more clearly...I guess my point
was that it was produced specifically for sale to the whitebread hi-skool
market and very consciously NOT for the R&B charts, and that oldies radio
ignores "negro market", chitlin circuit artists completely. I would NEVER
intend to denigrate the huge talents of Marvin, the Marvelettes,

Ditto on that. Though I'm not a big radio kinda guy, a friend of mine likes
to make tapes of WZBC, 90.3 in Boston and while riding around in his car
I've heard quite a bit of dunt 'n fuzz psyche he'd taped off that station.
Most of it was in a Hawkwind/Silver Apples vein (they even played "Nazi
Apocalypse" by Simply Saucer - YESSSS!) but there is a fair amount of
Pebbles style, late to mid 60's rawkus too. And speaking of which, I once
grilled a DJ at that station about a band called "the Makki Makmen" or
something (I know I spelled that wrong) and have since lost the info. I
believe they put out two albums, may or may not be American and played real
rippin 60's shit w/ Hendrix-vs.-Yardbirds stylings (if I remember right,
it's all hazy now). Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'd be oh-so-happy
to track them down...

actually, Brian Jonestown Massacre is a Bomp band. They are friends of
mine too ;) it would be impossible (in the short set I'm sure they were
only allowed) for them to convey their true essence. They have sooo many
different sides! They are definitly one of the more versitile bands I have
encountered. If one were to listen to all of their four CD's in a row
you would notice the diversity and variety of music they create. These
guys are real artists in my mind. FYI, they are up for a Bammie here in a
couple of days...my fingers are crossed :)

Why, of all the songs, did you have to slight the immortal YYY? I can't
listen to that one enough times! Especially considering that bubblegum
was such a cruelly unexplored genre.

Couldn't you have picked A Whiter Shade of Pale or something else that

"Yummy, Yummy, Yummy", "Sugar, Sugar:, "Chewy, Chewy, Chewy", "Little
Willie, "1, 2, 3 Red Light", "Kicks", "Indian Giver", "Green Tambourine", etc...
In case you're wondering, we took the name Dude! because everybody here says
dude all the time (thanks to Steve Rager), so it only seemed fitting. The
band consisted of myself (guitar), Jim "college radio dj extraordinaire"
Moran (vocals), Steve Stepe -ex-Rights Of The Accused-(bass), and Barry
Stepe-ex-Negative Element, Naked Hippy- (drums). Looking back, it was
stupid as hell... but also alot of fun. (kinda like bubblegum music itself?)

"Kicks" is not bubblegum!! Didja do "Hitchin' A Ride?"

I concur, except that the funness of it is somewhat lost on me,
having been around for the initial 50,000 playings of these dipshitty
songs. But it's not just that I was 17 and not 12 at the time - there was
plenty of "pre-bubblegum" drivel, too, like The Cyrkle's "Red Rubber Ball"
& Simon & Garfunkel's "59th St. Bridge Song".

(Can I get another offended witness here? Heck, yeah, I bet I can!)

It's just that I dug Aretha & Wilson Pickett & The Byrds & The Unrelated
Segments & The Nashvile Teens & I still cannot but find this teenybopper
stuff to be garbage by comparison. But I wish you every pleasure in your
innocent, albeit perplexing, enjoyment of it.

This is pretty cool:
FILMING INSIDE GRACELAND
(Memphis, Tennessee) -- Movie cameras are going to be allowed inside
Graceland for the first time ever. Scenes of a movie called ''The Road
to Graceland'' will be shot inside Elvis' mansion. Priscilla Presley is
the executive producer of the movie and she gave her O-K. Harvey Keitel
will star in the movie about a drifter who thinks he's Elvis.

This is not!(Sorry, I hate FRIENDS!):

ATT LEBLANC WILL BE LOST IN SPACE
(London) -- It's a long way from Central Perk. Matt LeBlanc is going
to be ''Lost in Space.'' LeBlanc has been cast as Don West in the movie
version of the T-V series. He replaces Sean Patrick Flanery, who was
originally cast in the role. Mark Goddard played Don in the T-V series.
June Lockhart is in London filming a cameo in the picture.

I dread this film...anyone else out there think MARS ATTACKS! sucks?

YEEEHAWWW! I've been thinking of putting together a bubblegum band too! I am
dying to sing "Sweeter Than Sugar".

Lola, don't fret. With me, it's a case of "those who don't remember the past
are condemned to repeat it." The Archies and 1910 Fruitgum Co. are probably
to you what, say, the New Kids On the Block are to me. (Although NKOTB were
thankfully after my time!) Wonder if NKOTB will ever have "cult status"? I
can't even remember any of their songs!

I think our bubblegum is probably Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. GAK!!!!

A very good point. When investigating the US 60s garage scene it is
*essential* to listen to the British Invasion bands that influenced the
groups on Garage Punk compilations. In other words the DC5, Animals,
Yardbirds, Stones, Pretty Things, Them etc. How many pictures of suburban
US bands are complete rip-offs of DC5 album covers. For instance look at
the of the shots Basement Wall on the Cicadelic reissue.

I have a very good friend who was recently bowled over by the Joe Meek
phenomenon. This guy will relay countless tales about David Johns & The
Mood, the Buzz, Screaming Lord Sutch, Crawdaddys and other Meek bands.
However quiz him about classic (ie top thirty) cuts from the period and a
glazed expression suddenly appears. It's really a little strange for
someone to rave about 'Crawdaddy Simone' but have little conception of the
magnificence of 'Over Under Sideways Down' or 'Mystic Eyes'. As you
Americans say... GO FIGURE!

By the way the same chap found a copy of 'Gloria' by the Wheels for 10p in a
bargain bin a couple of years ago. Many facts about the bands
collectability and the records price tag were mentioned before the disc was
cleaned up and sold for a nice sum. Some folks take on music and record
collecting is very puzzling to me sometimes. How I wish they would spend
their money on half a dozen great compilations than on one single by an
obscure UK Freakbeat band. You simply limit your exposure to great music
otherwise.
