In the immortal words of Johnny Carson, "I did not know that!" I presume
you/they were around sometime between '85 and '95? ;-) (And just to prove my
reading comprehension, I'd also wager that the music was kind of
garage/surfy...?) When did you call it quits?

Subject: J.R. Lewis and the Playboys(no, it's not Gary!)

If you saw "Decoy for Terror"(sometimes it's called "Playgirl Killer"),
firstly, I feel badly for you. Secondly, he said putting on his asbestos
underwear, J.R.(J.L.?) Lewis and the Playboys (were actually good enough to
make Neil Sedaka look decent. One song they sang was "The Waterbug"; good
tune, awful lyrics. I cannot recall the other one.

So I'm reading Blitz Magazine and they made mention of albums that did not
deserve obscurity. One was the Honeycombs' second album and the other was
J.L.(J.R.?) Lewis and the Playboys. All I can recall from the article is
that they were Canadian. Does anyone have this album and is it any good?

"See that little Waterbug,
He moves in a straight line.
But the Waterbug must've flipped it's tug...",

P.S. I am sorry if I have asked this already. I have forgotten the answer!

How about The Diaboliks? I bet they'd do it justice...

Is this really true? I have heard from several record collecting expert
types that the Hullabaloos were in fact Americans doing a fake British
Invasion cash-in thing (as were the ridiculous "You Know Who Group" on 4
Corners, with the worst fake accents ever on their 45 of "Reelin' and
A-Rockin"--dig their lp cover shot with Phantom Surfer-like masks over
their eyes). I am no expert in this field, but I'm not aware of them
being known much in the UK--it seems odd that they had 2 lps here but are
not mentioned in the definitive beat group book "British Beat" (published
ca. '75). The DC-based British Walkers were another group that sort of
acted like they might be (they wouldn't deny it) from the UK, according to
a Kicks article on them.

OK, I wish it didn't have to come to this, but...

We were down in Chapel Hill, NC and I left the legs for my Vox Continental
organ at the club. They say they shipped 'em back to me, but they're nowhere
to be found. So... If any of you garage fiends or Vox nuts happen to have a
set of legs for a Vox organ, or know someone who does, I'd be interested in
buying them. If you have a Jaguar, Continental or Super-Continental, it
doesn't matter. They all fit the same set of legs. I'll consider buying a
full setup (organ with legs) if the price is right.

Help!!! I'm using a cheezy synthesizer X-stand, and my Continental's getting
real pissed off at me!!!
