I'd like to put in a plug for Rmerchandz' Baskervilles want ad. I used
to be in that band. Rob is a terrific song-writer, Craig is a solid,
young drummer, and Christoph(their first drummer) is not only a good
musician, but this angular Greek-German also has a compelling stage
presence. So if you live in or around NY, don't delay! Contact that
Rob!

I can't play bass or guitar (or sing for that matter), but I'll put
the word out. You guys sound really cool. I'll be looking forward to
seeing you around town. Honestly, NYC could use some new blood.
        Please get in touch.

Here in my hometown of NYC, Nashville Pussy and Pleasure Fuckers are
playing together tomorrow night at the Continental. Guitar Wolf already
came to the Continental a month ago and they'll be coming back to the area
in a couple of weeks, playing Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ which is just a
PATH ride across the river away.

I wonder how the Pleasure Fuckers are live. I've got RIPPED TO THE TITS
and that disc just **smokes** like a motherfucker - or should I say
pleasurefucker? ;) Their most recent album, FOR YOUR PLEASURE, is
still pretty decent but not quite as raw and smokin' - FOR YOUR
PLEASURE seems to have too much more of a Nirvana-ish "alternative" edge
than I'd like to hear (granted, the PF's would blow away Cobain's
Prozac-laden schlock any day!)

P.S. On a completely different subject, I finally picked up the
Registrators' CD, TERMINAL BOREDOM. It's pretty good, but it's different
from Teengenerate or Guitar Wolf. The aforementioned two bands are more
into the Garage Shock aesthetic, while the Registrators are very
influenced by late-'70s punk/new wave stuff like Buzzcocks and Vibrators
(and you could tell by looking at their skinny ties and sunglasses on the
CD cover).

"ERASERHEAD" DEATH RULED A HOMOCIDE
(Los Angeles) -- The death of ''Eraserhead'' star Jack Nance is now in
the hands of homicide investigators. Nance was found dead last December
one day after police say he was punched in the face during an argument
in a donut shop. The coroner has decided that Nance died from a blood
clot caused by the punch. Police have talked to people who work in the
donut shop, but so far no one remembers seeing the fight.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a CD re-issue of this one at Tower in
Boston; probably because of the Cream/Iron Butterfly tracks (one
     each).

Subject: Slicks and Massacre

Anyone got any tour info on the Cheater Slicks or the Brian Jonestown
Massacre? Havn't seen the Slicks yet, but caught the Massacre for a short
set at SXSW and they blew my mind. Five seconds into every song they played
the guy I was there with and I would just start laughing because we couldn't
believe how great those first five seconds were. The leads were amazing.

Anyway, I'm in Tucson right now, but will be back on the east coast in August
for grad school, probably NYC. Any info would be great. Thanks.

Mike
