Subject: Daily nightly Lyrics

Laura, check this out:

Daily Nightly

Darkened rolling figures move thru prisms
  of no color
And hand in hand they walk the night
But never know each other
Fashioned pastel neon lights
 light up the jeweled trav'ler
Who lost in scenes of smoke filled dreams
  find questions,
But no answers.

Startled eyes that sometime see
 fantasmagoric splendor
Pirouette down palsied paths
With pennies from the vendor
Salvation's yours for just the time
it takes to pay the dancer.
So once again such anxious men
 find questions,
But no answers.
[From memory I think the last line is "sententious" or
even "tendencious men", rather than "such anxious"]

Night has gone and taken it's infractions
While saddened eyes hope there will be
 a next one
Sahara signs look down upon a world
 that glitters glibly
And mountain sides out arms around
 an unsuspecting city
Second hands that minds have slowed
 are moving even faster
Bring down someone who's found
 a question, but no answer.
[I don't think the mountain bit's quite right, but I can't check it...]

Thanks for the information

I thought Renegades wrote it because of their CD had credit of the
member.
After reading your information, I saw HepStar's CD.
The credit is written D.Gibson,M.Brown, G.Johnson, I.Mallett and
Vince Taylor.
Were Renegates arranged the song?

Hey, I stand corrected. I was assuming that the two rarer tracks ("Birdmen"
& "Time Enough For Love") were on a single. What I have is that Sonics
label bootleg with the other two songs. I ASSUMED, and I made an ASS out of
ME.
Thanks for all the cool info, though. Now I must read that frigging
Shepherd interview... holy hell. I find this quote incredible:
> Brad sad "Nah, as
>long as I still find them (the songs) as offensive as I do now, there's no
>way on earth that record is gonna be reprinted."
This is why bootlegs have to exist.

Yeah, like Hitomi said. Edited by a native Floridian now living in the
Atlanta area. I think it's just about the best 'zine I've seen covering
the current garage scene. Well written, laid out and knowledgable (without
losing that opinionated edge). It seems to have gone to an all newsprint
format though, which I don't know if is because of money or what, but I
highly recommend it.

Subject: Arthur Lee

Attention!

Awhile back, there was a thread regarding Arthur Lee, and what (if anything)
we can do to help get him out of prison (he's recently begun a 12-year
sentence for, basically, just being his crazy self).

Well, something is now in the works. There is a benefit concert to help
launch a new legal effort. It's called "A Love Affair" and among the artists
involved are Davey Allen & the Arrows, Canned Heat, and Peter Case. The date
is April 14, the location is the Ash Grove on Santa Monica Pier. I don't know
much more about it, but will post further details as they come my way.

In the meantime, anyone in a position to offer serious help (media exposure,
big name bands volunteering, that sort of thing, may contact the promoter,
Michael Mankey, at 310-826-2221. Please don't waste this guy's time with
frivolous calls ("can I get on the guest list?", "where's the nearest parking
lot", "dude, what's happening", etc. But this is a chance for all of us to at
least do something, and if you can help get the word out, that will be great.

Those of you who surf the web, subscribe to newsgroups and mailing lists,
etc, are invited to cross-post this message. This is the only place I will be
posting it.

See ya...

Greg

Subject: RE: IGGY & Stooges/Raw Power Remastered Re-Issue

The thing about Raw Power was that although the final album was
different from the way the Stooges had originally intended it,it was more than
simply a case of it being mixed "badly" by Bowie.Although the recent "Rough
Power" C.D. is maybe the superior way to hear the disc and obviously I'll be
buying the new version as soon as I see it,keep in mind there was a certain
"art" to the way Bowie mixed, which refelected his own tastes to a certain
extent. Before we all dump on Bowie because he's been such a goof for 20 years
now, remember it was mainly thanks to him "Raw Power" was released at all.And
his mix of putting the drums far off in the distance, and the wierd balance is
ALSO an interesting way to hear the record.
I have ONE major complaint about how C.B.S. released that album
though....to paraphrase Lester Bangs.. "Why wasn't that Motherf**ker a DOUBLE
ALBUM"!!!!!!!!

By the way, what the F**K is it with Iggy selling "Search And
Destroy" to those assholes as Nike? Not even "Blah Blah Blah" or going on
"Arsenio" was enough to make me turn on the Ig,but this is going to far.

Any idea who's distributing this stuff here in the States?
