They used to play every couple of month in New Orleans. Johny played upright
bass for them, right? Didn't 1/2 of the band leave and the other 1/2 become
Action Slacks?

The last time I was in L.A. I found the best shops on Vermont Avenue--it
is what Melrose was in its infancy- before it became overrun with T shirt
shops, overpriced vintage and foreign tourists-just slightly seedy and
cutting edge cool. Ask Bompers what Vermont avenue shops they recommend.

I've come to find out that my father intentionally spelled my name
"Jeffery".

Happy new year all bompers!!!
Just wondering if it was possible to get some early sonics albums without
paying 100$ for a new lp...
Could you tell me if Here are the Sonics and Boom! were reedited and on waht
label, and how to get them?
This is one of my new year's resolutions...I now almost all their songs
already, and songs like strychnine and cinderella are among my all time
favorites, but, shame on me, I NEVER heard the sonics' versions! That's why
I need it!

Yes, yes, by all means, yes, please try to see if it's still
there. If it's less than $20, please buy it for me. I'll pay
you back for the cost plus whatever shipping it costs you.
Thanks!!!

It's 16.99. I can pick it up on Friday. Let me know your address to
send it to!

BTW: I've been looking for that Modern Lovers CD that someone was
talking about on the list a week or so ago. I think they said it was on
Punk Vault? I haven't been able to find it anywhere. What's it called?

Norton will be releasing both of the Sonics first two LP's on their label in
the near future, along with LP's by The Wailers....I would buy those instead
of the expensive original prices.
But if you want CD's, Norton has available the albums in this format
right now....

The one place I love to go to in LA to satisfy my kitchy junk habit is
Whacko, which is situated on Sunset Blavd out towards Silver Lake. They
have everything from Mexican Wrestling Masks(the essential wedding
present), groovy Books, Posters, and all sorts of wierd junk, check it
out.

In my opinion Boom has only 4 songs worth while hearing.the other are
rock'n'roll covers. So better buy the first album.

Does anyone know anything about a late 70's/early 80's band called the
Monks (not the 60's punk GIs from Germany)? I seem to recall hearing a cool
surf/space instrumental called Skylab on the radio back then, but I've
never run across any vinyl.
