According to e-mails I received from Alan at Bolis, the most recent problems are due to name server problems between Bolis and its ISP. He is hopeful that these problems will be fixed within the next day or two. I'm well aware of how frustrating it's been over the last few weeks, and I'm sure that many people are simply not posting to the list because they don't know if (or when) their message will reach their fellow Bomp-ers. In a separate message fom Alan, he said that his goal is to resolve the status of bolis.com by the end of this month. As I mentioned before, this would involve another company taking over the lists presently running on Bolis' server, and possibly the bolis.com domain name as well. In the meantime, I've been looking into a couple of other possibilities to have as backups in case Alan is not able to come to terms with another provider. I may try to test out one of these solutions next week; if you're interested in volunteering to be part of this test list (perhaps one might call it sub-bomp), e-mail me and I'll get back to you with the details sometime in the next few days. As always, if you have any questions about the list feel free to e-mail me directly. The Bomp list will certainly continue regardless of what happens with Bolis, and I'm hopeful that the mail delivery problems will be cleared up soon.
