Hey, the digest went out when the message queue hit 40k -- just like it's
supposed to!

I'll quit yacking so much now!

<snip>Btw, Bob, did you catch my question at the bottom of a message last night
about the idea of a web page for signing up for the Bomp list? I was wondering
if your friend who had one something similar had experienced any problems with
people spoofing and adding/removing others without their
knowledge/consent.<snip>

I asked the guy this morning. Here's what I know: he's working with listproc
software. He does not use confirmations, he relies on the list software to
alert users to activity on their account. He has not had any problems with his
lists--but he's serving mandolin players fer cryin' out loud. Pretty sedate
bunch.

I think it might be useful for you to set up the form itself to return a message
to the person whose email is listed in the form. That way they'd get two
notifications--one from the web server one from the list. Or does that seem
like overkill to you?

See ya.

LOL!

No, not really... that's what I was thinking of doing anyway, and letting
people know when they're filling it out to expect two notices. Hopefully
just the mention of that will deter the ne'er-do-wells.
