Server speed and capacity which we've been testing, sort of. Cost (does Greg Shaw/Bomp pay for service?), space for archiving (does the host machine also carry the archive?), machine technical specs (which I guess are related to speed and capacity). If Evan thinks the new host can handle the load, that's good enough for me. I'm not arguing in favor of an impulsive decision, but I think the Bolis problems are hurting the list. The machine itself seems to be in good shape, though obviously the turnaround time won't be so snappy when it's sending mail to 120+ users each time instead of 5. Cost is also a factor... Bolis was charging what could best be described as a nominal fee, and I think Bomp was one of their first customers so they got some kind of "charter" deal. Greg has said that he wants to continue to keep the cost as low as possible (naturally and understandably); aside from that he says he'll trust my judgement on where the list should be hosted, which is a weighty responsiblity to be given by the man Quesion Mark credits with coining the term "garage rock"! >host can handle the load, that's good enough for me.
