Howdy, new Bomp-ers!

I got a message from someone asking what the address to use for posting to
this list. It's bomp@xnet2.com. Also, please feel free to continue any
conversations that have been going on in recent days; just reply and change
the address from bolis to xnet2.

Sharp-eyed bomp-ers will notice some small changes I've made to the look of
Bomp e-mails. Another change worth mentioning is that I've switched off
the feature that kicks out messages that have 'which' or 'who' at the
beginning of the line. I know a couple of Brians in Atlanta who'll be
pretty happy about that!

All you Seattle area Bomp people should get your lazy weeknight homebound
butts out to the Rendezvous (2320 2nd Ave in Belltown) next Wednesday night
(March 4th) for a fun show featuring the Hamicks (from Austin, TX),
Wiretaps, and the Cripples. It'll be an early show (9 pm-ish) and cover
will be cheap ($3-ish), so you've got no excuse to stay home. Long live the
new New Wave!

Having finally sent a fairly sizable order to Bomp mailorder, I have to agree
with some of the criticisms of the web site. It's not THAT hard to
navigate--discs are identifiable on a label-by-label basis--but the information
flies off in a bunch of directions. Summary information here, photos and
reviews there. There was different, and conflicting discount information on two
separate pages. After a fairly exhaustive search, I gave up looking for the
special sale information in "the last few pages." Perhaps the exhaustive search
was the point (sort've like the holy grail). At some point, if it's alright
with Greg, could someone share the location of this info?

Thanks.

Does anybody know of any '60s garage bands from Calgary, Alberta? Or
anyone know where I can find out?

Yeah, pick up the CD by the 49th Parallel, which contains their album
and earlier singles. "You Do Things" is one of the all-time great 60's
punk tunes, and "Laborer" ain't too shabby either.
