Are you talking of the sleeve or the vinyl, Tony ? if it's the sleeve,
think you're
wrong... the Dawn LP is more in the blue, with a pic featuring a zombie
attack against the band members ... But they have also issued a "yellow"
lp, can't manage to remember the title right now... Alzeihmer's disease,
for sure !

talking about punk stuff, it's been years and years that I 'm trying to get
a hold
on the Mekons first LP...impossible to find ! any clues would be appreciated !

The Cramps version of "Sunglassess After Dark" is Link Wray's "Fatback" with
the lyrics to Dwight Pullen's "Sunglassess After Dark" grafted onto it. You
can find these on Born Bad Vol. 3 - in fact, for anyone into the Cramps
that series is essential listening. It has about 80% of the songs the

> Pajama Party just had Donna Loren and some Anonymous 4 hodads.

Can anyone please tell me if Donna Loren is now
Donna Waronker? I have never been able to confirm
the rumor that she's the mother of Anna Waronker
(That dog) and Joey Waronker (REM fill-in drummer,
Beck drummer). I am asking for real, even though
this is an odd question.

I prefer the AIP films to the major studio
wannabes, though Girls on the Beach is probably
more interesting than Pajama Party. Try pairing
AIP's Bikini Beach against Paramount's Beach Ball
sticker. Pajama Party was a Don Weis film
(Billie, Ghost In the Invisible Bikini), so the
deficiencies are likely because William Asher (I
Love Lucy, Bewitched, Twilight Zone, Gidget TV
series) was not directing. Asher definitely knew
how to put women in front of a camera, his work
with Annette, Lucile Ball, Sally Field as Gidget,
Elizabeth Montgomery, etc is seminal. I mean, he
wins no points for putting them in situations
where they're reinventing roles for themselves-
even Bewitched, while Samantha is in power, she is
a willing housewife- but that aside, his work is
memorable, it's important. In fact, I'm pretty
sure (material isn't here) that Asher worked with
Sidney Sheldon to develop the Patty Duke Show,
which is yet another important 1960s female icon
he shaped.

So you know, the teaming of Tommy Kirk and Annette
in Pajama Party leaves it very one-sided (Tommy is
no match onscreen for Annette's presence).

For some reason AMC is not doing a beach film this
saturday, but I'm hoping they show Out of Sight
before too long.

The only time in recent memory that I've heard it work is with some of the
Voce, Inc. modules. (http://www.voceinc.com) This is the company co-owned
by Dave Amels (ex-Stepford Husbands), the guy you can hear playing organ on
the first Neckbreakers album. (Actually, I think he told me what you hear
on there is actually a Voce, Inc. module, not an old organ.) Of course,
Dave *has* a garage FULL of old combo organs. (The place is *incredible!*)

Hello all,
I'm looking for the Dickies 2nd LP, "Dawn of the Dickies", if anyone knows
where to find it or has one for sale please email me.

                                              Leo D.

P.S. Has anyone heard the new 45? Is it any good?

Sorry, I'm not parting with my copy of "Dawn of the Dickies" (shouldn't be too
hard to find used) but I have heard the new 45 & it rocks!!!!!
.........classic Dickies sound and humor. It's not exactly groundbreaking as
"Incredible Shrinking Dickies" was but is essential for fans & a worthwhile
buy for those unintiated. The songs wolud fit right in with those on the
Killer Klowns ep.
