Anybody who has this comp, could you please mention some of the band
names. I saw a BMG cd comp of Hong Kong 60's and 70's pop. Judging by the 45
covers pictured, band names and song titles, some of it looked pretty
cool, garagey in that GS kinda way and even included some garage
cover staples. The only band name that I recall off the top of my head
was Teddy and The Playboys (I think). In anycase, all the artists were
Chinese. I'm assuming that most of the good beat stuff out of Hong Kong
at that time, like stuff on Diggin For Gold and Project Blue were
ex-pats, but maybe there are a few gems on there. Anyone got any clues?

Hi there!

I've been listening to spinner.com's rockabilly channel, and i've heard a few
awesome tracks from a band called (the) Blue Cats... I tried to look up this
band both on the web and in the Tower records computer, but I've had no luck.
It's as if they don't exist :-(
If anybody on bomp has heard of them , could you please share it with the rest
of us?

Thanks, Boondocker

PS. One of their tunes on spinner.com is called _Sweet Caroline_, another is
what sounds like a one-of-a-kind cover of _Blue Moon_
Hope you can check'em out as well...

That goes for me as well, on both counts! And I'd love to trade for audio
of The Conquerors on the radio, as well...

Hey, the Spiffys, I forgot about that group, a local collector turned me on
the lp years back, did they reissue it? I remember a great melodic garage
tune on the lp. Tony
