Hey dudes,
You can find ALL the Ramones by searchin' on the web on the word "Ramones".
There are SO MANY cool sites out there. Try this:
http://home3.swipnet.se/~w-30732/ramones_fr.html
By the way, here are the lyrics of the first Ramones LP, alright.

Demetrius "Bacon Greeze"

RAMONES, "RAMONES"

BLITZKRIEG BOP

 Hey ho, let's go-
They're forming in a straight line
They're going through a tight wind
The kids are losing their minds
 The Blitzkrieg Bop
They're piling in the back seat
 They're generating steam heat
 Pulsating to the back beat
 The Blitzkrieg Bop.
 Hey ho, let's go
 Shoot'em in the back now
What they want, I don't know
They're all reved up and ready to go.

- -------------------------------------
BEAT ON THE BRAT

 Beat on the brat
 Beat on the brat
Beat on the brat with a baseball bat
 Oh yeah, oh yeah, uh-oh.
 What can you do?
 What can you do?
With a brat like that always on your back
 What can you do? (lose?)

- ------------------------------------
JUDY IS A PUNK

 Jackie is a punk
 Judy is a runt
They both went down to Berlin, joined the Ice Capades
And oh, I don't know why
 Oh, I don't know why
 Perhaps they'll die.
Second verse, same as the first
Third verse, different from the first.
 Jackie is a punk
 Judy is a runt
They both went down to Frisco, joined the SLA
And oh, I don't know why
 Oh, I don't know why
 Perhaps they'll die.

- ------------------------------------
I WANNA BE YOUR BOYFRIEND

 Hey, little girl
 I wanna be your boyfriend
 Sweet little girl
 I wanna be your boyfriend
 Do you love me babe?
 What do you say?
 Do you love me babe?
 What can I say?
Because I wanna be your boyfriend.

- -----------------------------------
CHAIN SAW

 Oh, oh, oh
Sitting here with nothin' to do
Sitting here thinkin' only of you
But you'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there.
 Texas chain saw massacre
They took my baby away from me
But she'll never get out of there
She'll never get out of there
 I don't care, wohoho.

When I saw her on the corner
She told me told me told me told me
 She wouldn't go far
Ooh, now I know I'm so much in love
'Cause she's the only girl that I'm ever thinking of.

- ------------------------------------
NOW I WANNA SNIFF SOME GLUE

Now I wanna sniff some glue
Now I wanna have somethin' to do
All the kids wanna sniff some glue
All the kids want somethin' to do.

- ------------------------------------
I DON'T WANNA GO DOWN TO THE BASEMENT

 Hey, daddy-o
I don't wanna go down to the basement
 There's somethin' down there.
 I don't wanna go
 Hey, Romeo
 There's somethin' down there
I don't wanna go down to the basement.

- -----------------------------------
LOUDMOUTH

 You're loudmouth baby
 You better shut up
 I'm gonna beat you up
 'Cause you're a loudmouth babe.

- ------------------------------------
HAVANA AFFAIR

PT-boat on the way to Havana
I used to make a living, man
 Pickin' the banana.
Now I'm a guide for the CIA
 Hooray for the USA!
Baby, baby, make me a loco
Baby, baby, make me a mambo.
Sent to spy on a Cuban talent show
 First stop- Havana au go-go
I used to make a living, man
 Pickin' the banana
 Hooray for Havana!

- ------------------------------------
LISTEN TO MY HEART

Next time I'll listen to my heart
Next time, well I'll be smart.
That girl could still be mine
But I'm tired of the hurt
 Tired of tryin'
 I'm tired of the pain
 Tired of tryin'
 I'm tired of cryin'.

- -----------------------------------
53RD & 3RD

If you think you can, well come on man
I was a Green Beret in Viet Nam
No more of your fairy stories
'Cause I got my other worries.

 53rd and 3rd
 Standing on the street

 53rd and 3rd
I'm tryin' to turn a trick

 53rd and 3rd
You're the one they never pick

 53rd and 3rd
Don't it make you feel sick?

Then I took out my razor blade
Then I did ehat God forbade
Now the cops are after me
But I proved that I'm no sissy.

- -----------------------------------
I DON'T WANNA WALK AROUND WITH YOU

I don't wanna walk around with you
I don't wanna walk around with you
I don't wanna walk around with you
So why you wanna walk around with me?
I don't wanna walk around with you.

- ------------------------------------
TODAY YOUR LOVE, TOMORROW THE WORLD

 I'm a shock trooper in a stupor
 Yes I am.
 I'm a Nazi schatze
 Y'know I fight for fatherland.
 Little German boy
 Being pushed around
 Little German boy
 In a German town.
Today your love, tomorrow the world.

For more great blue eyed soul from Britain:

Chris Farlowe, Gary Pickford Hopkins of The Eyes of Blue, Timebox, The
Quik, The Small Faces output for Decca, Dusty Springfield (tho' she had
green eyes I think), Manfred Mann (indeed! Great Maxine Brown cover),
Stevie Winwood too, Rod Stewart, Lulu.

As for Paul Jones (The One In the Middle), great voice yes, but NOTHING
next to Steve Marriott's. Steve had the definitive soulful voice from
Britain. And as for Phil May, good vocalist yes, but hardly of the blue
eyed soul ilk. From the Blues/R&B realm, Phil is quickly outdone by Long
John Baldry. Baldry also hits the blue eyed soul side with songs like
"Cuckoo".

Yep! That's my problem, too. I rarely find any vintage clothes that I
can really wear, esp. long sleeves (they're never long enough).

if anyone has, i'm in for a c note, there bro... since i scoped this
movie off of a&e back in '86, i've been searching for this monster track
and comin' up with the goose egg... this is the lost ark, the holy
grail... anyway, i think the story goes that because the group cut the
tune solely for the movie, the master tape slid past decca's and
reaction's vaults... lost for good? man, i hope not because that's some
wild (wylde) tone ronnie wood's bendin' outta his telecaster... and kool
vocals... the bridge rules too (if ya listen closely, ya can hear some
of it under the movie dialogue).

this is the stuff bootleggers should be trackin' down instead of
pressin' 1,000 copies of the same tired, old tracks on "rare,
limited-edition vinyl" (yeah, right, snooz...) and chargin' 30 bucks for
the instant "collector's item" wank-o-rama bullshit...

fyi, the event (from san diego) cut a version of this tune for their lp
on voxx back in '89...

I've often thought that people in general had to be smaller back
then, too...they do say that heaviness is statistically more
common among Americans now than ever. But my personal theory as to
why it's so hard to find larger-sized vintage clothes is that the
bigger sizes were snapped up first back when they were new, and the
exceedingly rare leftover finds are snatched up faster than
lightning now.

Thanks to all those that bothered to write to Triple J. Even though it
is unlikely to change things, perhaps someone will read what was written

P.S. I was glancing through the latest edition of Mojo magazine
yesterday, reading the record reviews where I noticed that they had
reviewed the Orange Humble Band. They gave it a good review but also
pleasing was that the author gave reference to The Someloves and
something about them being one of the greatest pop bands to come out of
Australia in the 80's.

Oh christ yeah, I saw that crap. Anyone who didn't know any better would
think the Oz '60s scene was a square, dork-ridden hell on earth! The fact
that ponce-face Johnny Young didn't even mention the Easybeats - who wrote
his biggest frigging hit, 'Step Back' - just adds insult to injury.
It reminded me of the schmucks who write 'definitive' articles on the
history of Australian punk for Rolling Stone, without even mentioning the
influence of bands like the Missing Links or the Throb - an influence which
was obviously there, 'cos the Saints covered the Links' 'Wild About You' in
'76!

Ahem...

Please let me!

That's part of what it's about! She mostly is beeing a tease and tells
her man he can do anything, but as long as his hand doesn't go near HER
own fly...

I'm sorry, but you asked!

I'm sure that he has. The backing track is We The People, minus the vocals.

How about the chords to Ramones songs?

Speaking of Moon in movies(as opposed to Movies about Moon), I recieved
copies of that'll be "That'll Be The Day" and "Stardust" for Christmas. Moon
the Loon playes...erm...Moon the Loon in both and the movies feature David
Essex, Adam Faith, Ringo Starr, Dave Edmunds, Nick Lowe (very briefly, he
looks twelve) and a few others.
"Stardust" is an extremely fucked up movie that drifts into total
wierdness...for some reason they've both been released here in Oz on video
and are apparently dirt cheap.

PS- Hey Judy, thanx for the nomination. I'll need to get into practise
downing "mandies", saying "My Dear Boy" lots, running over my bodyguards and
using a twenty inch ride cymbal instead of a hi-hat.
Who the hell's gonna play Pete Townshend!!

That reminds me of another great new wave/rockabilly band from the early
'80s... The Polecats! I've got the posthumously released Make A Circuit
With Me, but would like to get ahold of their Vertigo release from '81
called Polecats Are Go! Any idea where I can dig that one up?

Thanks,

Yes Yes!. I had a long debate about Oz music on another list cos people were
saying stuff like: 'oh your from Oz, you poor thing, they have such bad
music and no contributions to teen culture'. See, cos of psychopaths like
Johnny and Molly the whole of the UK thinks Oz is basically good for
nothing. And boy are they wrong!!!. case in point: where did the divine
Mike Stax get the name for his zine: from a song by QLD's Creatures.

Subject: EXOTICA FILMS 2: Music and More! at Fez

OK, here's my last spam mail on the EXOTICA FILMS 2 program in NYC this
Friday. By the way, a slightly shorter version will be presented on
Thursday, Jan. 28 (tonight!) in Philadelphia at the Silk City Lounge, doors
opening at 9:00. The Philadelphia show will not include the Scopitones or
talk, since these have already been done in Philly.

EXOTICA FILMS 2: Music and More! at Fez

Fez, 380 Lafayette Street
(between E. 4th & Great Jones)
New York City • (212) 533-2680

On Friday, January 29, the Secret Cinema will present EXOTICA FILMS 2:
Music and More! at Fez. This collection of ultra-rare footage will showcase
a unique collection of filmed musical performances from a variety of
offbeat jazz, pop, and rock artists from around the globe. The films come
from a variety of sources, including very early TV shows, film jukeboxes
from the 1940s ("Soundies") and 1960s ("Scopitones"), and select feature
film clips. This long awaited follow-up to the Secret Cinema's EXOTICA
MUSIC FILMS program of a year and a half ago features 100% new programming
- -- little of which is likely to have been seen before by anybody attending!

Doors open at 8:30 pm. The screening begins at 9:00 pm. Admission is $8.00.

As with all Secret Cinema presentations, all of the films will be projected
from archival 16mm film prints onto a giant movie screen (not video).

Just some of the performers shown on the big screen will include: Astrud
Gilberto, Desi Arnaz, Sylvie Vartan, Trini Lopez, Johnny Hallyday and
Carmen Miranda.

Adding extra spice to this celluloid smorgasboard is a selection of equally
arcane short subjects, without musicians but plenty of exoticism:
Technicolor travelogues of Caribbean isles, coming attraction "trailers"
for Maria Montez movies, a 1920s silent film on "Ceylon Devil Dancers and
Buddas," and a look at tiki carving and other customs of the South Seas.

Plus, scenes from a never-shown-in-the-U.S. French TV special, WORLD MUSIC
ET SETECT, featuring organ jazz/pop-rock instro combo André Brasseur et son
Orchestre, Peter Max-like animation and pop-art special effects.

Plus, a sampling of DISK JOCKEY TV TOONS. These lost artifacts from early
50s broadcasting were marketed to local television stations for use as
filler programming during Hit Parade-type shows. The low-budget, bizarre
visualizations are essentially rock videos with no soundtracks, and were
made to be shown with suggested popular records.

And if all this weren't enough, there will be a special talk about the
history of film jukeboxes by Secret Cinema curator Jay Schwartz,
illustrated with color slides of rare photos and original advertising
materials.

The Secret Cinema, begun in 1992, is a Philadelphia-based floating
repertory film series that shows unusual and lost film fare of all types at
various locations.
