Vox also made a bass with built-in fuzz. I'm not sure which model it is
but they were made in Italy in the late 60's or so.

Can you give any information about the Vince Taylor autobiography?
I've never heard about it before but would sure like to get my hands on it.
Vince Taylor made somewhat of a cameo in the recent biography of Syd Barrett
'Lost in the Woods'. It seems he visited the flat that Syd and a heap of
others were living in in Cromwell Road London about 1967. It doesn't say if
the two met but Vince related his belief that different rock stars
represented various Ancient Greek dieties.

My two cents:

I really like the tone of old Ampeg amps...the Reverbrocket and the
Gemini I or II both have excellent, deep reverb, better than any Fender
built-in 'verb IMHO. The Geminis also have very good tremelo. Beware of
the reissues of these amps: they sound nothing like the originals, though
they still have great reverb.
