It's called "Alias Vince Taylor-Le Survivant", it came out in 1976 in
France. I don't think it was ever translated... too bad!

Several blues/R&B TUNES WITH THIS TITLE. Little Walter&Diddley already
mentioned.
my guess is this (since i don't know the cover versions mentioned in the
question): Willie Cobbs
VeeJay 1961. Byfar the most often covered version of the tunes with this
title. Some versions:
Junior Wells,DrFeelgood,Magic Sam,John Mayall, and the big bomplist
favourite Allman bros.band.
It's a blues standard, but a great great song! Also the basis for Dawn
Penn's massive reggae
hit a few years back. "You don't love me, you don't love me yes 'I know"
is the first vocal phrase.

Looks like you just lost a bass player, Mr. Bond.

Not only was it a great blues standard, it's a great "Girls in the Garage"
standard as well. I think either the Models or the Starlets or both did
this one up right in the 60's, not to mention Zebra in the 80's. The riff
was also lifted by the Thahnes for a song called Million $ (LSD) (on a
limited 10" EP).

Hey Bompers,
Went to see a preview of "Lock, Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels" Hilarious
flick with a cool soundtrack(I couldn't believe they played "Liar Liar" in
it's entirety). The cinematography is brilliant and overall feel reminded me
of "Trainspotting" or "Resevoir Dogs". The UK crowed has probably already seen
it, but for the statesiders ,don't miss it if it comes your way. Tony

Yeah, I played with a guy who had a Vox bass with built in fuzz. He didn't switch
it on too much cos the bottom tended to drop right out of his tone. Cool gimmick
though.

A club in Kansas City has advertised his appearance on March 11.=
The last time he played in town was in the early 80s. After =
playing several songs off a record he was then promoting, he=
eventually got around to "Pills," but he played it offhandedly,=
almost as a bone to throw to old Dolls fans.=

Assuming this is part of a tour, if anyone gets to see him=
first, I'd appreciate a mini-review. If it's bad, it=
won't keep me from going, but I'd like to know what to expect.=

Thanks, rick=

Subject: low power radio

Hi all. I was just wondering whether anybody on this list is involved (or
would like to get involved) with trying to get congress to approve the FCC's
proposal to allow for low power radio stations so that we can get a little
variety on the airwaves.

I live in the radio death city of Washington DC and I am dying to get this
thing passed so that we can open up the airwaves to some new voices.

But I would imagine there are some college radio folks out there on the Bomp
list that are currently carrier current or AM that might want to look into
purchasing a 10- or 100-watt station if they become available.

The National Association of Broadcasters is lobbying very hard against the
proposal, of course, because the 5 or 10 conglomerates that own all the
stations in the country don't want any competition for their ad dollars.

So this is the time to send a letter to your congressman and to the FCC
letting them know that you support the proposal. There has been a lot of
grassroots support, but the NAB has a lot of money, and they have the
support of the congressman from Louisiana that heads the committee that will
address the issue in Congress.

So anyway, I'm not the lobbying type, but this is an issue I think a lot of
you are probably interested in, and it seems like we might be able to make
some serious impact on the decisionmaking process. So please write to your
congressman (especially if you are from Louisiana) and send a copy to the
FCC.

For more information on this issue, check out: www.lowpowerradio.org

say it with me now:
(low) POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
