The Creatures EP certainly did come out - it should still be available
from Bomp, or the esteemed Wolfgang Volkel in Germany. Don't know who
else would be carrying it, but I would suspect most cool shops around the
globe. If you ultimately don't have any luck, ask me - I have a couple of
swirly vinyl promo copies.

Well, there was such a huge amount of people to see Thee Headcoats last
night Billy said that they should split up more often. And...that's exactly
what they will be doing. Johnny has relented and now agrees to go to Japan
in April, which means that the absolutely final Headcoats show will be late
April/early May.

>>Old band, but still kicking around with a new lineup. In fact
they just put out a CD, and it's pretty kicking. They had an
LP "Whole New World" on Restless back in the 80's, but it's
really disappointing - great songs played with no energy. I
went to see them live every time they played, and couldn't believe
it was the same band on the album. They had some killer singles,
though, like "Best Friends" and "Knock Me Down" (both on Modern
Method records). Both of those tunes have been re-done for the
new CD with quite good results. You can find the original version
of "Knock Me Down" on the Boston volume of Rhino's DIY series.>>

Subject: Re: burning cds

you should be able to do this. i'm assuming here that you're talking about
a burned cd that came from an audio cd burner (which won't allow you to copy
a burned cd) -- i don't think computers have any of these constraints on
them.

i've burned a bunch of cds on my computer, and pulled tracks from cds burned
from an audio only cd burner. i'm not sure why you have to have the cd in
your drive to do this -- i've made comp cds from a number cds that came from
an audio cd burner. all you need is the audio extraction software (which i
think comes w/ pretty much any cd burner on the market).

by the way, if anyone out there is thinking about purchasing an audio only
cd burner, i'd recommend against it for about a dozen reasons. i bought one
of those dual tray phillips burners and got rid of it a week later. you're
better off doing it thru your computer w/ a computer cd burner.

additionally, if you have your heart set on one of the audio only burners,
get one of the older models that will recognize data cds (which cost less
than a dollar) instead of the new kinds which only recognizes "audio" cds
($3 apiece -- big SCAM).

my 2 cents,
joe

I gotta agree with you that the media hype surrounding the millennium hoopla

was entirely false about Hitler and Germany, may I ask?

Mr. Kopp,

Operating on the assumptions that you don't live in a cave somewhere in the
vast western expanses of North America, don't belong to the NRA, and only
own pastel or off-white sheets, surely you find the concept of able-bodied,
male, heterosexual, non-catholic Aryan superiority somewhat less than sound?

Paul

p.s. - can we please get back to the more important subject of Thee
Headcoats please?

Subject: Lucy in London?!?

Hi all--

A friend of mine forwarded me this inquiry from a Phil Spector-related
mailing list, in the hopes it would be something I remembered, but
unfortunately it rings no bells with me. (Sounds really cool though, if
true). Anyone recall anything remotely resembling the following
description, from their misspent years of Tubing?

<<Does anybody know the Ronettes singing "When Lucy was in
London, she wore my miniskirt" (or something like this). I
do think I remember a Lucy Ball show in the sixties "Lucy
in London", with music from Dave Clark 5 and something of
a titlesong by The Ronettes.>>

Thanks,

Lenny
