Nope we haven't missed it. This show goes out either on Sat Jan 22nd or 29th
at around 9pm on Channel 4 (UK terrestrial). Running time about an hour.

One for the VTR, methinks.

Hi,

I just heard a great track by a band called "JUne&The Exit Wounds" on the radio,
went and bought the album and I think it's great. Not very bomp-y but great pop
ala Beach Boys, High Llamas etc. Does anybody know anything about this?
Is it even a band? This guy Todd Fletcher has done almost everything
on the record. any info great appreciated

content is on this one. They haven't really followed a pattern with 1 with
being tracks from Psychedelia volumes 1 and 2 and 2 being tracks from Purple

I think it was the same Groop, but I'll have to check it out at home to be
sure. The Aussie Groop were pretty big in Melbourne in the mid-sixties with
several singles and a couple of LPs on CBS. They had a national hit with "Woman
You're Breaking Me" in '67. I know that this was definitely released in the
U.S. on 45 (Jamie I think), but it went nowhere up there. This song has a
psychedelic Easybeats sound; a bit late (and commercial) for my tastes, but I'm
sure many would dig it. It was actually comped as being by an American band on
one of the old Mindrocker LPs.

Yeah, well. Let's put it this way: You can go to a lot directions from Beach
Boys. To Steeley Dan for example.
This June&.... whatever I'm asking about , is what I meant by not very bomp-y:
it's really slick, hi-fi production in a contemporary sense.
High Llamas comes to mind and I haven't seen any discussion bout' bands like
this on the list.

Hey, don't gloat to us down here how it's freezing up there! The weather is
really, really crazy here.
One day it can be cold and rainy, the next all warm and sunny. You just
never know. It has been
rather warm and nice lately, but since I've had to put up w/that my whole
life, I envy ya'll's cold winters (though the cold does make my hand
exceedingly dry). Of course, one of the best parts of
warm weather is the shorts and mini-skirts all the gals wear. Can't wait
for the next Grind!
