Actually that's "Suck And Bloat". I listened to that when I was in
highschool, but since haven't really kept up with those guys. I saw their
leadsinger last spring at a show in St. Pete. I dunno....the last song on
that album is still great but I've kinda gone off that kind of punk. I can
see how someone would wanna rock out to that though!

Hey,

I'm new around here and have a question for y'all
- - I heard that Smallstone is going to be putting something out on Bomp! in the future. Is this true, or just a fallacy? Are we looking at a 7" or maybe something like an LP? I also heard that they have a song or 2 on a KXLU comp but I have tried to contact them via email/to no avail.

I was at the Sub Pop site today the other day and noticed that they are already listing Beachwood Sparks tour dates. I was a bit confused at first, thinking maybe theyhad a single out on their singles club or that they were releasing their new album. Today I went to the Bomp page and found that I was right and wrong, not respectively. Anyways if the vinyl release is going to have alternate tracks I guess I'll have to buy both formats, god dammit.

Florida had an orange grove of killer garage bands in the 60's, including The
Tropics, Split Ends, Kollection (anyone know Savage Lost?), Outsiders (became
Soul Trippers), Burgundy Blues, Birdwatchers, and of course - We The People.

Absolutely right--Coburn is fantastic in this, and it's one of the funniest

goes, I think it's a good bet that this WILL have the REAL original

Paramount wouldn't pay the royalties for Clear Light, substituting some
crappy nothing tune and packaging it as a SPECIAL home video version, I
guess on the theory that less is more. We don't have cable here (sad, sad

Hey all,

According to the Get Hip Bands On Tour e-mail that I just received, the Cynics
will be playing the Los Vegas Grind with the Remains on July 1. The e-mail
also indicated that they would be attempting a European tour in September.
While I was in Pittsburgh over Christmas break, Michael babbled something to
me about how the band would be reuniting (I do the web site for his other
band, Honeyburst). Considering his state of inebriation at the time of this
statement, however, I figured that it would be best to refrain from shouting
it to all the world until I could get some corroboration. I won't be seeing
him until spring break in early March, but I'll ask my Pittsburgh
correspondents if they can get me information on the band's lineup and
projected itinerary.

I thought there wasn't enough new interview stuff with Brian... In other

Except for a couple of decent garagey-pop tunes, the Birdwatch' guys
were pretty lame.

Ari, it's just a question of taste here. I prefer the Velvet to
Motorhead cauz I'm a lot more into 60s than heavy metal, but they're
both great bands in their own field.

Indeed,
AMC is showing "Out of Sight" twice on Saturday with loads of groovy music
clips at 6 and 10pm. I imagine they'll pull the non-letter box (6) and
letterbox(10) trick again as well. Really dig the Turtles "She'll come back"
track off that flick. By far their best track, me thinks.
In between as mentioned is Presidents Analyst, a hip flick with the Clear
Light doing "She ready to be free" in Cafe Wha. Unfortunately you get Barry
Mcguire singing as well.
