ever see offshoots, The Breeders, Black Francis(Frank Black)and others.......
such as Kim Deal w/Guided By Voices.

Just wondering, I've been a Pixie pusher since the first day I heard 'em,
cliche, I know, on college radio. Umm, if you don't mind my pushiness, how old
ARE you? (This is going straight towards a compliment, I apologize for the
question.

I remember, Maria (Bryan McClean's half-sis) being a HUGE critic fave
during this time.

I don't know, but U2 and the Red Rockers, (playing in Dallas the next
day, show was great) were on KZEW, Dallas FM, on a show that highlighted
"underground" music as it was called then, the show was "The Rock and
Roll Alternative", responsible for me purchasing my first Red Lorry
Yellow Lorry LP.........anyhoo, I was a caller(remember, I'm an idiot
15 here) and got to ask them questions on the air. I don't remember
anything at all, except gushing and asking no pertinent questions that I
had agonized over all night...............at school the next day a girl
ask, "Was that you on the radio last night, cool." I know I had made a
complete ass of myself, because this chick was a serious dingbat.

Never heard of the Red Rockers again, ever.

Ny first REM show had Let's Active opening.........

I saw Ride on that same tour, at Slim's SF,and at The Catalyst in Santa
Cruz the very next day. Only went because my friend was working for
Reprise/WB in Alt Marketing and had free tix to things all the time. I
was bummed at Ride's version of the Creation's How does it feel.....

Didn't that turn into a 3 band tour w/The Cure in larger cities? I know
that was the lineup in SanJose.

shared a cab w/him during Cavestomp, and he kept us rolling in cynicism
and sarcasm.

Cavestomp, he said MTV treated him like shit and said they have NO tapes
of The Cutting Edge and would pay if someone had them.........my Dad
taped over all of mine, alas.................... If anyone has them,
Peter wants them! Email me!

thats quite enuff for the evening! Caught bronchitis from my hubbie,
time to take that yummy couch syrup w/vicodin in it and perchance to

Wanna re-live those times? Check out a ten minute blast of the Milkshakes

Oh yeah, I'm updating the Garage links page at the moment and also
streamlining my web activity. Could those of you with links to The Big
Black Smoke (London gig listing page) and The Dirty Water Club please remove
them as these sites are being dismantled. If anyone in London wants to
take on responsibility for BBS then feel free to get in touch.
